You can do that if you replace/modify the stock. Like the Archangel stock of the Mosin with detachable mags. The question is why, and the answer is why not.

Over the years I've encountered all sorts of commenters. I just want you to know my reasons to make this specific setup over anything else at my disposal, and I want to know your intentions. Sometimes I prefer realism and historical accuracy while at other times I just make stuff that barely makes sense for the sake of it.

In this particular case I just wanted to show off the trench magazine model I exported from Raid WWII; a model that goes unused in the game itself! And it actually holds 20 rounds like the default L4D2 AWP.

The most important reason, however, is that the sniper versions were never issued with the "trench magazines". I might make a scoped alternative version at some point with a less outlandish magazine.

The Mosin mod has its rear sight replaced with a modern rail interface for mounting scopes.

Oh, and don't make me tell you NOT to use the scope function or unbind the middle mouse button; that makes people think they've been outsmarted or something.

compared to the other ww2 guns i think mosin has the smallest scope with stg-44. if you managed to add it there, it could be nice. just a suggestion btw.

Mosin never mounted anything in front of it. German rifles, however, did have a smol scope such as the one you can see on my StG 44 mod.

smol sight can be added in front or side of the weapon similiar to mosin. but i am not a modder i dont how things work with animations. in the other hand it would be incosistent with this weapons ethnics. kinda love it or hate it vibes goin on here if you ask me.

It would be impossible to reload with stripper clips this way.

@Yuuyakizami21 20 round mags actually existed since WWI. They were made for Stormtroopers. They're called "trench magazines"

It's not semi-automatic and it has a 20-round "trench" magazine. It's a perfect AWP replacement.

Interesting fact: you can use shotguns to hunt birds. In the air. And you don't use slugs, you use bird shot.

And you don't have to run into melee range and unload both barrels at once to turn the bird into ludicrous gibs. And your birdshot does not disappear after 10 meters. And a shotgun does not have a spread of half your screen at 65 FoV.

I like that scoped shotgun, for unknown reasons I always complain 'that feeling when shotgun = sniper rifle' cuz no one knows if you can literally use shotgun as long range, but slug ammo would do than unknown

Don't worry lads. One day I will get insanely drunk and make a few utterly cursed WW2 guns just for the meme factor. Normally I try to stay authentic whenever possible.

I also make scoped shotguns with heartbeat sensors sometimes.

Now that's just insulting! If there's anything Alex is good at doing, its making the weapons look and feel authentic to their IRL counterparts, unlike WW2 or Vanguard.

@Sniper, the Kar98k magazine's lower plate can be removed and replaced with this huge box held in place with screws. It will not be a detachable magazine unless some sort of adapter is applied to the weapon.

For example, a Mosin-Nagant or SKS carbine normally have fixed magazines, but custom modernized stocks can have built-in mag wells, such as Archangel stock for Mosin.

If I remember correctly there is a version of the Kar98K with a box magazine HOWEVER it can't be REMOVED meaning stripper clips were still required to fully load it and the version was rumored to been from WW1.

Not all of them, but for variety reasons I will try to splice as many unusual model parts as possible. For example, I want to make an M1E5 Garand, but I will not stick a ridiculously long extended BAR magazine in it and have it still reloaded with en bloc clips anyway. Maybe later for meme reasons.

tbh according to someone, kar98k can't be attached with mag for unknown reasons, plus I don't know about ww2 weapons attachments

It's neat how well Payday/Raid assets fit into L4D2

I'm loving these Raid: World War 2 mods. It's a shame the game's development and updates got cut short. At least its assets are being used here instead of collecting dust!

IMO i think you should swap the reload animation between your kar and the lee enfield
