I beleive the issue is related to whether you run the game using integrated graphics or a dedicated graphics card. If it doesn't work, tying launching it with the other one.

Is it working? My video doesn't play, it just plays the sound while the my screen is frozen in the mod loader.

Alright, I fixed it by reverting to the lower quality version that I had uploaded originally.

@^8=UwG=^4starfox246 - I blame one of the recent updates. It worked fine at the time when I published this.

@Xhatry - I don't understand why they shouldn't work for you if the original videos play fine in game. :(

In any case, they need to be .wmv in the HD Edition (and .avi in the CD version).

@Zetnus - I have just did that and it didn't work. And I have also changed the video file type with a program to .avi and it didn't work

@Xhatry - Go to the files of the mod and copy the videos to Age2HD\resources\_common\movies replacing the orginal files.

@Zetnus - I have an GTX 660 TI, and the original video file runs well, I don't think that's the problem, and I already have tried unsuscribing and suscribing again

@Zetnus - That's right, but there is no black screen, the loading mods screen shows up and no video. It is like if the file would be a sound file and not a video file. When I go to the files of the mod, and I open the video with VLC there is no problem, it's not a codec problem I think.

@Xhatry - If I understand correctly, you are getting the sound from the video but the video is a black sceen?

It doesn't work for me. I have the lastest update and the expansion Could it be a file type problem? I've noticed that it keeps de mods screen and the sound of the file works, but there's no video. Also, there's no microsoft or other enterprises intro.

With the update to the new Workshop system, this should now work for everybody (assuming you are on patch 4.0+ and own AoF).

Oh, you know what, that might be the problem. I've had it set to HD for a while. Perhaps if I open it as Forgotten it will work. I'll give it a go at some point.

That file is definitely not the default intro. If you do not have The Forgotten, you will need to rename it into AOEIIHD.wmv I think.

Thing is, that file opens the current intro as well.

Well yes, but larger mods need more time to "apply themselves". If you start the game, let the normal intro run fully and then restart the game, hopefully that should work.

Can I not just subscribe and have it work?

@Doomshroom - make sure to wait for the mod to download fully before starting the game. Then, when the game starts, don't cancel the intro video - that gives the mod time to exract itself to the correct location.

look at min 1:44 the reliq part is missing in all versions -
and some other short scenes. or when theys broken the trebuchet -
it kills one men this part also missing in 1999 version

i have all versions here - and it it NOT the 1999 version.
its only - ONLY from the ALPHA Version.

This is the video from the pre-full release version of the original age of empires 2 game, I presume they cut it down to the shorter one we see in the HD and the full release original version (I have both) to make it flow better as it does tend to drag on a bit.

This comment is not for the mod author's benefit but instead for anyone wondering where the video originated from.

Weeeell...... It was cut. There was no relic part, and no quick castle part afterwards. The conquest part was pretty good at the end. The finishing off with the Trebuchet in the beginning wasn't much bother. It kinda looked awesome when panic is heard when the screen return to the kings.

So yeah, It was pretty nice. Besides the resolution wasn't as bad as I thought. I could actually see more details and it was smoother than the original AoE 2 I played as a kiddo.

I still have the original game, but I didn't have the relic part in the intro.
