This mod don't touch the Height of the bounding box sadly.

This should become a vanilla feature, the collision boxes have annoyed me & I'm sure many others.

Ya, it is not compatible with WeaponCore, it thinks the Turrets are Energy weapons and therefor won't load ammo. I believe it something to so with the ID of the weapon, and WeaponCore reads it as not needing ammo

It's not compatible with WeaponCore, I think. The ammo feed failure is a giveaway.

Had to revert to the vanilla turrets as the Low-Profile version won't accept any ammunition. (Not tried small grid only large grid.) Does it require a different sort of ammunition? I have weapons core if that makes a difference.

I added this to my list and if you play with progression system on., you build an assembler but the game still will not'allow you to build these turrets. Says research needed. Progression tree might need a fix for this.

The issue is because the small gatling's conveyor empties are on the outer cube cells of the original 5x5 bounding box. When I decreased the bounding box to 3x3, I knew it would render the conveyors inert so to speak. So it's not a matter of code, it's a matter of importing all of its models into blender and adjusting the empties. I'll get around to it eventually but I've been very busy lately. Until then we'll have to use the large port on the bottom ;)

Thanks Other mods that did this have broken since the warfare 2 update. Thanks very much for this. BTW if i could recommend, take a look at the small ship Vanilla Mod pack (its the only one i have seen be able to overide parts using small ports and it seems to have fixed your issuse. maybe something in its code is fixing it! maybe!! just FYI *ps not a coder but know a bit*

The reason Keen sets their bounding boxes to larger than the base of ship weapons is so the barrels and moving parts can't visibly intersect with blocks around them. It's a matter of realism, but luckily mods exist to bypass that realism once in awhile in favor of QOL ;)

Why can't Keen just do this? I hate, hate, hate the vanilla turret - the fastest way to ruin the look of any ship or station period. Great Mod! Please keep developing.:steamhappy:

for the old turrets its Base piece is 1x1x1 and the turret piece is 1x2x2 right

@Zantulo That would be great if Nukeguard agrees to that and you actually doing the bender work for making the converyer ports on the sides work would be amazing

And yeah A LOT of people will be interested in this because the OG vanilla turrets kinda MEH.

Yes, they don't work due to how bounding boxes function and because this mod was just quick SBC edits, no model work. However, more people are interested in this mod than I thought...I mainly made it for myself. So eventually I'll import the two models into blender and make the necessary changes so you can pipe them up to the face of the 3x3 area (visibly inside the actual model).

That's a whole thing involving importing the models into Blender and setting them up to work with WC. I'll talk to Nukeguard and see if he wants to merge our two mods.

Mod updated, thanks for the report! The blocks can now be found in the G-menu by searching 'LP' or via the Block Weapons, Large Blocks, or Zantulo category. They have their own block variant group. By the way, I didn't know another mod did this. Can you remember the name or link to it?

Nice to meet you, Zantulo.
It's very useful, but there was a problem that was pointed out in another similar mod, where the turrets of the NPC ships that spawned didn't work because they were displaced from the conveyor.
That mod dealt with it by duplicating it, not replacing it.
