I made a mod that lets you pick radio stations directly from the vanilla preset menu.

Go to C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\108600\2735294987\mods\RadioFrequencyManager or whatever the equivalent is for your Steam installation.

Add two folders, one called Content and the other called 42.

Do not add anything inside the folder called content.

Copy the files icon.png, mod.info and poster.png and then paste them inside the 42 folder.

This makes the mod show up in the mod manager, but I couldn't get it actually working correctly from that point.

anyone got a better description on how to get this to work in b42 because Sp4tan has left the chat
daniel_pace 31. maj kl. 19:43
I been trying to update the mod myself and I cant get it to work. :(
daniel_pace 31. maj kl. 9:35
It doesnt show up on my mod list
daniel_pace 31. maj kl. 9:35
How do you update it? @SP4RTAN
Alpha Gamer 24. maj kl. 8:12
@SP4RTAN Where do you put the newly created 42 folder? I know the original is here C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\108600\2735294987\mods\RadioFrequencyManager But where do i put the copy?
SP4RTAN 14. apr. kl. 21:05
This actually still works in B42 it looks like. Just make a local copy of the mod, make a "42" folder an copy everything into it

42 when?
Skakk 19. mar. kl. 21:01
@Anxiety - The list you make in your manager is just for that save (game). But there is an option in the settings in sandbox when starting a new game to set which channels are available in your manager. You could set the same channels as a previous game so it works the same as a previous game. Not sure if its my mod list, but I can fill the manager fairly quick with channels in a new game. Any specific channels i don't find on the 1st few radios/walkies I see as an objective to find.
Anxiety 19. mar. kl. 16:49
Is the list of channels in your manager usable in mulitple saved games, or is it just for the current save?
Skakk 1. mar. kl. 4:49
@TheDude404 - You can use this to set radio stations to your walkies, but you can't have your walkie on with radio while on your belt from my understanding. I have not played in a few months so maybe someone has found a solution to this. It has always been a pet peeve that this will not work and that you need to use one of your hands to hold the walkie in order to hear the radio :(
I believe it is possible in MP, as they have a system/mod that allows you to communicate with other players over the walkie while it is on your belt.
If this is true then it should be possible, therefore someone needs to make a mod for it (out of my skill capacity).
TheDude404 28. feb. kl. 19:00
can i use this mod to put radio frequencies onto walkietalkie frequencies? like i wanna put the news station and the Knox talkshow on my radio so i can walk around with the stations on my belt
Bez 18. feb. kl. 20:42
This is fantastic. I was just using a scrap of paper in the game, which while realistic it takes longer than if I was writing it down in real life. More convenient to find stations in a hurry if I'm using a new radio too. I hate missing out on the Survivor Radio dialogue.

I love this mod, I hope it will be available for version b42 soon
Blkbeard 14. feb. kl. 10:18

Would be nice if I could update the list of predefined channels for my server.

Once they're set I can't change them.

is there any way to copy from TV channels so I can listen to tv channels on radio?
Skakk 25. apr. 2024 kl. 19:38
@Kaldo - Really like your mod, gives a great way to record radio frequencies for transfer.
I was wondering if your mod could work with TV's also?
I am not a codder so excuse my naivety on this idea, but would it be possible to add a frequency setting for TV's as it seems that there is also a hard limit to the amount of TV channels possible on each TV listing. This would match up with possibilities in reality and could potentially allow the use of unlimited TV channels assuming we have the frequencies of the TV channels, modding all TV's to have random TV channels saved would not be needed in this instance. Ideally the frequency band would need to span from 3 up to 6 digits.
Your advise and knowledge would be appreciated as being a novice I would need to know its possible before investing time into the project.

Multiplayer?
Mr. Reaper 24. nov. 2023 kl. 18:36
Thanks for this it was sorely needed, there are soo many mods now that making a new character is like....have i made 200 hundred now or is it 500+ and each one had to look through the radion channels like OMG. This fixed this problem perfectly
Tensac 30. juli 2023 kl. 7:06
I know someone already asked this but is this a save compatible or should i start a new game?
Inferno 29. mar. 2023 kl. 1:46
Spanish Please
Panopticon 18. feb. 2023 kl. 1:44
Anytime you try adding a frequency that is not presetted in the radio, RFM will give an error because of the missing preset.
It would be good to disable the button for adding a frequency unless the radio is on a preset.
BlackWater821 17. dec. 2022 kl. 14:10
I got many red error when trying to add "unknown frequency" from radio. Any fix?
Other works fine, MP 41.78
SherbetNags 22. okt. 2022 kl. 14:07
Is this save game compatible, or do I need to start a new game?

Thank you for awesome mod! Very usefull! Thanks! :cozybethesda:
Tahvohck 26. aug. 2022 kl. 11:57
There's a typo in the RFM settings description for predefined channels. Instead of the correct text it says freq1;channel1|freq2|channel2
TheoryOfMadness 24. aug. 2022 kl. 10:39
Does this work with Survivor Radio?
Guppy 9. aug. 2022 kl. 22:51
hey i wanted to ask permission to repackage this mod into a list for my server for updating purposes. Would that be alright?
Dr.Thrax 23. juli 2022 kl. 10:44
I think it range of the Staten but that me not sure
FlipMcFly 23. juli 2022 kl. 8:44
Quick question. What are the colored buttons in front of the transmitter for?
Dr.Thrax 29. juni 2022 kl. 6:03
Hello I love this mod but can you make it completely with the Survival radio mods?
Doctor Decay 28. maj 2022 kl. 20:03
Hello, I am the owner of one of the larger communities and I would like to see if I could request to put your mod into a mod pack. I inform all my members of the full credits of your mod via a dedicated discord channel and a PDF made for the server that goes into mod description, controls, and full author credits. I will share any details you need, or answer any questions. Thanks again, and great work!! :health:
Becerra9 13. feb. 2022 kl. 13:56
Thanks a bunch, this makes it so much easier to manage my radios. Great mod (again) :)
TracerFoxTEK 5. feb. 2022 kl. 22:01
@Redeye Not really, it just makes things less tedious to deal with. Pencils are still needed alongside pens to make markings on the map, and paper still has plenty of crafting uses.
Redeye 4. feb. 2022 kl. 18:37
thanks, though it now defeats the purpose of pencil and paper in the game?
Astronomical Anomaly 4. feb. 2022 kl. 11:28
this works, thanks!
Kaldo  [ophavsmand] 2. feb. 2022 kl. 9:43
@Ravenshadow, it is not an item, just click the new button on the radio panel (on the bottom) that says "Open RFM"

@PoliceOfficer_Chan, it should work in mp since it's just a clientside interface modification but no guarantees, haven't tested it there that much.
Ravenshadow 1. feb. 2022 kl. 14:12
is this an item you find? if so where
Officer_Chan 1. feb. 2022 kl. 1:29
Mp?
Becerra9 1. feb. 2022 kl. 0:36
Good god, finally. I was thinking why someone hasnt done a mod where you can save "presets" of your radio channels so you could copy from one radio to another. Thanks a bunch!
Bussy Butcher 31. jan. 2022 kl. 14:44
Oh wow, that was much sooner than expected. Thank you! I'll give it a try one of these days coming up. :)
Kaldo  [ophavsmand] 31. jan. 2022 kl. 9:15
Heyya, just pushed the update that enables sandbox options for predefined channels, and one other neat QoL improvement. Lemme know if it helps!
Be careful when defining the channel in options, I added some basic validations but if you try hard enough you can probably break it. It must follow the syntax in examples. Between it being parsed in lua and the various limitations that the sandbox options have, it's the best I could do.
