no matter what i do i cannot get any of my cameras to rotate like that.
is there code i insert into one of the cameras or a script i've not linked correctly?
When the tanks were filled up (you can keep the missile hydro tanks on stockpile, they will auto switch stockpiling off when firing) I hit the 2nd button I made, for this group "detach".
That's it, ready to go!
(When using MultiGrid Projector, there is even a better way. Instead of detaching the rotors, power off the ship merge blocks, then take this grid's blueprint. You can now weld the missiles on the "reloading thing", instead of on the ship. So now, instead of detaching the rotors, merge the ship to the reloading contraption, then detach the rotors when tanks are full.)
1. I welded up the refuelling .. thing :P.
2. Welded an advanced rotor on station, cut off automatically spawned head.
3. Welded a 3x3 (small grid) head on the large conveyor port of the h2/o2 generator.
4. Flew the ship with the ... thing. Above this Advanced Rotor.
5. Attached Head to Rotor.
6. Ground away the yellow tubes.
7. Where these used to be (for the 4 missiles) yellow tubes, added 4 small advanced rotors, again
ground off the automatically spawned head.
8. On the missiles itself, welded up small advanced heads.
9. Grouped the newly made 4 small advanced rotors, and added a button on the .. thing.
10. Gave button action for this group; attach. Now the hydrogen tanks are filled up!
11. Yet to be performed/executed.
As a temporary stopgap, I've added a reload projector on toolbar 2, slot 9 that allows you to rebuild missiles and fuel them up. Once built and fueled, simply cut off the fueling pipes at the yellow blocks, and grind down the remaining red pipes :)
Atmospheric variant: I have a different atmospheric ship that uses at ospheroc thrusters and carries these missiles
I will release the carrier this is designed for semi-soon; it has a reloading platform that the Crossbow simply docks to and reloads from: https://gfycat.com/aggressivejealousjaguarundi-engineers-missile-guided-space
"None of the pre-configured hotbar buttons worked for me after printing the ship in survival."
Ahh the joy's of survival. Sometimes depending on if the cockpit is built before the things that are bound on the toolbar, things can break :/
