Maybe it's intended as the mail is made from scrap, but surely it could use a buff as it doesn't make sense for someone to be able to rip apart chainmail with their bare teeth.

As for the mittens, yes, you need to have gloves on in order to wear the plate mittens, as they are just plate armor without the lining.
The alternative was to have gloves be required in the recipe to craft the plate mittens, but I opted for just requiring gloves to be worn, acting as that liner.

You're most likely right, I'll take a look at the values this morning and likely adjust.
Found the issue. Pushing a fix shortly.
A lot of blacksmithing logic was implemented in B42, and I am going to be reworking the crafting system for this mod to work with the new smithing system.
Because of this, I've determined that I'm likely going to wait until stable is released, because it looks like they are still finishing up some of the smithing logic, and I would rather build off of the stable platform for smithing rather than an unfinished one, which will end up creating more work in the long run, as well as very likely a poorer product.
