@Fizzet OK it appears you are right as the mod author slaneche responded after my post, confirming your understanding...
This mod's description text states: "Allow your marshal to increase control throughout your kingdom!"
...and, in my games, it does exactly that!
To be clear, the mod description text does not claim: "increase control throughout your RULER'S OWN DIRECTLY OWNED LANDS".
Rather than a bug in the mod, I think it is a misunderstanding on your part on what this mod does - am I wrong?
As a workaround: (1)Just do your own lands manually, then (2)Let it roam throughout your 'realm'.
The issue for me was "Purple square icons were displayed on some councilor task buttons".
FIX SUMMARY
After several hours of testing, I finally got to the bottom of this issue, at least for my mod list/playset.
WHAT DID NOT WORK
1) Against the original suspicion, it actually has nothing to do with the excellent mod 'Better UI Scaling'; obviously, unsubscribing/resubscribing to it does not fix the purple icons.
2) Verifying game files did not fix anything for me either.
WHAT DID WORK
1) Disabling the mods listed below make the purple boxes go away for me.
Auto promote culture
Auto conversion
Auto increase control
[1.15] Auto-Pause (updated)
Note: I am posting this message to the Workshop Discussions section of each mod to inform others, hope it helps you get rid of the annoying purple boxes.
