I wish i read this section before subscribing lol I was almost killed while testing this mod I was glad to move a horde to the other side of the street and suddenly a few zeds were walking towards can's direction, first a few zeds, them some hordes lol I thought instantly that they were attracted because of the mod and saddly I was correct, it was an insteresting feature

ya no funciona :( antes atraía 9 bloques de distancia ahora atrae a todo el mapa, revise la script pero no pude encontrar el error

Yeah i've heard that a lot and i don't know why, you can always change the sound range in the mod files, but the numbers are already pretty low (noise range is at 9)

Nice idea overall. But in-use it's WAY-TO-Dangerous. Because of some weird reasons the noise wave it's to HIGH, for example: Once where i had in RiverSide (Parking Area) a few zeds here and there. Only one or two cans, and from 800 zeds killed on character now i have 1300 and on map they are tons alive and wait to bite my but

Nah man your mod is still awesome and much more util since it's easy to use, i tried that one and it took quite many actions to make it work, may be fixed later but i still remember your mod was recommended by Youtube Pros so, idk what to say, i still keep your mod subscribed still ^^

I haven't checked it but if someone made a better mod i'm glad because I'm too lazy and busy to maintain my mods. Haven't played PZ in a while neither, i have to try the update someday

@Katenn This contains 2 mods, one is the default mod and the other with extra sound range.

But it can be easily edited in the files

Does this work in multiplayer? Every time I attempt to throw the can the game goes black and I'm sent back to the main menu, it doesn't crash the server tho.

I don't know the running sound range, but the sound range of the cans is 9 (tiles i would guess)

I think the biggest one that I'm using right now would be Hydrocraft. I know it adds recipes to recycle the various cans into scrap metal and smelting recipes for tin and steel cans.
I'll give the mod a test tonight and let you know what I find!

Does this mod replace or just edit the existing items? Just curious how this mod would interact with other mods which add recipes using those cans as ingredients.

@PikaDERP i just tested it, it does work for existing saves, but it deletes the old cans, it only works for the new cans. Have you tried eating a canned food and then trying with the new empty tin can?

@poppajulietwhiskey Meh, no need to be reused realy. If standard spawn rate of cans is not enough, try using trash and corpses mod.

I don't know how to code that, the only thing i did is make them work like a grenade, which also despawns. And i'm not good at scripting.

I'll see if i can add the empty beer bottle and give it more sound range

Can the thrown cans be collected and reused?

If you are also looking to spice up your mod even more, could the heavier glass beer bottle be made to have a longer range when thrown, with a bigger sound radius when it hits? Could ground type determine whether or not it works(bottles may almost never break or make noise if landing on grass, but have a 100% chance to shatter on roads, with different odds on all the ground surfaces in between)?

Awesome indeed, thank you very much for adding the cans o/ Finally gives me a reason to grab those soda pops and beer cans even though I already have my trusty water bottles, and soda bottles for when I need a bit of a hunger boost :D
