❤️ We hope you enjoy both. I don't work on TMR but I know Norby puts a lot of heart into that mod. He also has plans on implementing some form of pirate radio eventually, which would be even more awesome.

TMR is on my list of mods to try next playthough, it does sound like a fairly nice solution to the problem. Although I think you have to drive to the station to edit the list which removes the "I'm feeling this song" freedoms. The long load does suck, and I've compressed the hell out of the tracks as much as I'm willing to before it starts to sound like ass. I appreciate that though, if I feel up to it next playthrough I may recreate (as much as possible) as singles. Thanks for the words and for what its worth TMJ is a great mod.

Absolutely heard. For what it's worth, Norby created True Music Radio as a way to hear music via car radios, and while you cannot easily load and unload music during your roadtrip with TMR, it does let you hear your favorite True Music through your radios, and it'll keep playing as long as you are in the game. Single track versions of TM packs can be subjectively nice for that (depending on personal preference of course), because single-track lag spikes are much briefer.

TMJ got a lot of upgrades during the MP update; I don't know everything about how it worked before that, but as far as I know, it never had track length detection, which is what led me to think you might be thinking of the other jukebox mod that does. Regardless, neither of these issues exists anymore, so I am always on the hunt for good new single-track packs. If you decide to get into that game, feel free to drop a link on our page for the melophiles.

No, I was referring to the True Music Jukebox mod, I used it in my previous playthrough when it was brand new, not sure if that feature was a part of the mod on launch of shortly after, but I remember it restarting for me when I would leave and come back. That is pretty neat how you managed to get that to work though. I do see the reasoning to have this also split up, but for mostly the reason as some of the songs I would have a tough time finding, but also the main purpose is for cars, they lack your fancy code to track them globally and are pretty annoying fiddling with on long trips. If only someone made a cassette/cd changer mod that I can install in the trunk :D

Also, just to be clear, TMJ has no track length awareness whatsoever. The next track is triggered to begin when the audio file finishes playing, i.e., when its sound emitter is no longer in an active state. We neither know nor care how long songs are; I only like the individual tracks over mixtapes in the jukebox because tracks can be freely queued in any order, so I can make my own "mixtape" from individual tracks, so-to-speak.

We achieve this by tracking not object mod data (as in the case of Lifestyle) but global mod data. We use jukebox positions as keys in a global mod data table that tracks the jukebox data for us, so we never lose access to that data, no matter where you are on the map. Mod options and sandbox options determine what happens while you're gone, but restarting the track you're on every time you get back is not one of the settings. I, too, would find that annoying.

I think you may be thinking of the Lifestyle: Hobbies jukebox, which requires track-length tracking on its songs and has all kinds of other quirks that are not my area of expertise. True Music Jukebox is an entirely different mod, and as one of its two devs I can confidently assure you that songs in fact do continue playing while you're gone and do not restart when you get back -- in fact, you can adjust the range to allow you to hear your jukebox all over the map.

IIRC jukebox has a track length detection method or something. Its not ideal to use the tracks in the jukebox as if you leave and come back, it will restart the track and get annoying from my experience, but yeah singles for the jukebox and mixtapes for the car was how I did it.

Fair, but, for what it's worth, with True Music Jukebox, we no longer need to swap cassettes... Hence my hopes for more mixtape conversions!

Unfortunately I don't think I'll be doing a non-mixtape version, there are alot of other music packs with singles, this one specifically was made for long road trips without needing to swap cassettes. Besides some of the song titles I forgot.

Ah it must have changed over time if there is a difference, I'll look into that and change it if it differs from the core.

Could you make the weights 0.02? Like other mod? 0.2 is really heavy for having these collected on the go. Love these mixes. :)
