It's the texture format when you make the vtf
Usually Valve use DXT5 for texture with transparency and DXT1 for those without, it reduce the texture size by quite a bit
RGBA8888 is reserved for really high quality bump map or HUD element
It cull the download size from 580mb to 420mb
Not even mentioning all the RGBA8888 you used instead of DXT5

If it's in the caves I've never encountered anyone with this problem. it may be being caused by a mod you have installed.
If it's outside by the waterfalls I have seen some videos where people experienced glitches in this area but as it's not consistent it's hard to pin point the problem. What I can say is i've got a clean install of L4D2 that i test all my mods with. Not modded in any way...and these maps look and play fine without problems on that build.
To be more specific, the funicular was in the bottom of the rails
