Im just stretching the laser from the emission joint to the hit point in the world. (I also do some fancy stuff with rotations and the like, but it can be simplified quite a lot)
If you dont wanna deal with UMF, open teardown's source code. Go to the laser.lua file, (data > level > factory > script > laser.lua) and use that as reference. You can feel free to take the laser sprite and audio file from my mod, as theyre just decoded versions of TD's assets.
If you check out my map (An Unusual House) youll see a similar use of bent voxels.
I use *no* scaled voxels at all. I only make use of bent voxels as they still work really well with the physics system and they look stylized at the same time. Theyre my favorite way to design stuff in this game.
As for the audio issue, I will fix that eventually. Honestly sort of forgot it had audio lol
