@Manbearpig There is a mod for that. It's called "Decolorize the wasteland".

I'd also love a mod that disabled wasteland coloring. It's a stupid thing but it was an option in CK2 and it annoys me to no end that I still cannot turn it off in CK3 more than two years after launch.

Hey man, do you think you could find a way a to fill up the empty spaces on impassable terrain? For example if you view the map in the de jure kingdom mode and pan down to Oman and Yemen, there's an empty space. It does not get colored if you own all the surrounding provinces. Kind of like what the user below's asking for.

Is there a way to remove color from a wastelands when it is surrounded by country? for example the desert between Syria and Mesopotamia I would like to make it of no color as if it didn't belong to anyone

Does this works with map expansion mod (ROA, AEP, OE)?

Just update it with *.*.* in the version field ( * - is a symbol for any ).
It will stop showing that it outdated ( and people from asking to update ) forever.
