No idea why this reupload isnt working for so many people, maybie try the original and remove the file which causes the issues and see if that helps. I have no other advice

The whole map is black.

If you just want the map and not the portraits and cursor. Locate where your steam is installed. Go to steamapps -> workshop -> content

Locate your HOI4 (it'll just be numbers [mine is 394360].) Then locate this mod (it'll be numbers).
After that delete the following folders/direcotries:
gfx -> cursors
gfx -> leaders
portraits

My best guess is the guy who fixed the mod changed a icon, you can find the mod files in the workshop directory and just remove all the GFX to do with map icons

This is indeed strange, not sure if it has something to do with the uploaded having a censored version of the game.

Subscribe to the mod "Uncensored Portraits" which re-add the portraits to censored versions of the game.

If that does not work, you will have to find the files for this mod located in your workshop directory, and copy the contents of uncensored portraits into it.

Alternatevely you can subscribe to the original and follow the instructions in the comments which detail removing the file in it what crashes it, the original version has Hitlers portrait already changed so it will be visisble.

Hope one of these solves your problem mate

You can sub to a portrait mod which simply re-adds it

any way to make "the" german's to not be censored?

For those that the mod appears to be out of date, unsubscribe and subscribe again, for some reason the workshop is not updating the mod.
