@Crackhood mostly so people can still start in the 60's and 70's while getting some steam locos. Either for roleplay or just for the sake of it. Some may not want to use save editing and still get access to some oldies.

I wonder if steam locos can be fueled by coal, as i believe the horses are fueled by hay (crops)

I tried out the model, just a miracle. So if you made railway cars of that period and equipment for the construction of a railway with a steam locomotive, it would be very cool.

You did the right thing by making this mod. I don't know about others, but I started the game in 1900. It's good that a pack of mods with horse-drawn transport appeared. And also water vessels. But there was no railway transport. Thank you so much for this idea. I am waiting for new mods from you.

@MrKrabs top speed's 80km/h, based on the engine I used as reference. Not sure it would have much use once you reach those years tho x)
