I get the joke, but in terms of how it impacts gameplay, it would stand out like a sore thumb. Neon purple doesn't fit in the game. It would make a great Gamebanana mod, though.

Needs to be a subdued color for it to look good. Look at "A Deep Commitment to Purple" for example. I know "Pink as Hell" exists but that's an exception and not a rule.

It's a good paint, but you'd have to greatly de-saturate it so as to not freak people out. Using the actual error texture magenta is sure to cause problems.

uh, no. pretty sure this is bait but theres a reason the texture is like this, its to grab your attention and let you know that something has gone horribly wrong and you need to check something. this is like the equivalent of making an unusual taunt effect thats literally just the afterburn textures.
