(You could use a trigger_once to trigger the text event (could even have something like a model appear to go along with the scare with this) or a logic_auto with a long delay)
Also, the text which appears feels cheap and gets old and annoying pretty quickly and completely removes any immersion.
As a suggestion, coloured lines on the side of walls could be pretty nice to help with navigation. i.e., following a certain coloured line on the walls would lead you to a specified place.
