Amazing mod! Only minor issue I'm having is that Car Battery renders Cupcake Platter unusable. It spawns an item but then automatically takes it back.

Cupcake Platter was changed yeah. And yes, The way it's coded doesn't work for Greed Mode sadly

tainted Natsuki's cupcake platter doesn't seem to work in Greed mode. Also I remember being able to reuse it early to scrap items into soul hearts and can't anymore? I don't know if that's a bug or just you changing it intentionally though.

It's due to shoddy code that for some reason was made to REQUIRE External Item Descriptions to actually function. I need to look into it again

Ahh that does make sense. I looked through the code and it seems it lists all the enemy ids and projectile types in order to generate ammo. Adding mod compatibility for custom enemies and projectiles would be pretty difficult.

The tainted monika debug error others are talking about is a mod compatibility issue because it stopped when I turned all my other mods off but when I did there was another that happened where no ammo would be taken when using special shots but when i used debug to absorb projectiles it made all my ammo go away even when I wasnt firing special tears. both of these seem to only happen after using debug and I only ever got either one or the other of these two glitches so they may be related in someway or it might be a coincidence.

I encountered a bug when playing as Natsuki and using birthright with technology 2 (although it might happen with other items too)
I don't notice any bugs except for the flashing warning that says a runtime error occurred running Doki Doki Repentance
I disabled all of my mods except for Doki Doki Repentance and the bug still shows up
The error said:

error executing POST_LASER_UPDATE: doki doki repentance_2638699710/src/characters/natsuki.lua:179: attempt to call a nil value (method 'ChangeVariant')

When tained Monia is trying to absorb boss tears the game freaks out and displays an error message

I unfortunately managed to display an old message from the old interface (or you have to restart the game to remove it...)
I produced it with Tainted Monika, I had the enemy tears (frozen by monika's active) running at high speed around monika.
I have the log, and here is a part where I think the bug appeared:

Back from Japan! Small patch is out. Managed to fix Tainted Yuri's Birthright not working on the next floor.

I tried making Cupcake platter work with greed mode. But honestly, I don't think it's possible sadly.

Alright, here is a small list of all the bugs I have been able to find:

-Pocket Actives with sprites that change as you are holding them like Happy Thoughts and Cupcacke Platter sometimes don't completely switch into the background when switching between them and pills or runes if you can carry multiple things down in that slot

-Tainted Yuri's Birthright only works for one floor

-Using Cupcake Platter on Greed or Greedier Mode renders the item unusable for the rest of the run

The challenge rooms do not count towards the "Cupcake Platter" reload (with an item inside).

Yeah sadly I couldn't find a way to make it use less charge on a smaller item like half a heart. I guess you just need to decide on what to use it on in the moment.

I tested 'Cupcake Platter' again, I find it works well (even if I find it a bit abusive to use all the charge to transform a half heart, but why not) I found a disturbing feature (Not a bug because it is logical XD)
If you have an item in Cupcake Platter, and you later get 'Car battery', Cupcake Platter will have a permanent item in its storage. ^^

Found a minor bug with Tainted Sayo's pocket active. I picked up a Jera rune and when I swap between them, only the Item sprite itself will move into the background, the "charges" or well, its contents stay. Not sure if I worded that in a way that makes sense.

Just a minor visual thing though

Been at this for a few hours. I can't seem to dynamically change the chargebar depending on what heart it is that's being converted. I have managed to remove the early activation and on hit removal. The code is quite a pain to work with. ><

I think we could remove the premature activation of the object (which gives blue hearts).
I didn't know that reducing the quality of the item was a bass mechanism (I thought it was a bug ^^). Personally, I'd remove it, but I'd modify the item as follows:
I'd increase the number of charge 3 -> at least 4 (for the 2 forms)
And converting red hearts would decrease the corresponding number of charge:
1 Half heart -> 1 Charge
1 Heart -> 2 Charge
2 Heart -> 4 Charge
So the player will have to choose between power or survival.

Taking damage to reduce the item quality was a intentional mechanic to try to balance the item and to make it more of a challenge. However, If you think that needs removing, I can do that. It'll probably make the character more fun tbh.

I didn't account for picking up a Quality 4 item. I can make it so it can't downgrade the quality.

Also activating the item prematurely giving hearts is something I could remove too. Either that or make it so converting red hearts into soul on a charge or something? Which do you think would be better?

I tested T.Natsuki again, but it's still a bit buggy, BUT a bit less so which allowed me to test and discover how to make bugs (Hoping it can help you):
1- If you take damage 4 times:
-With a quality 1 item in the Cupcake Platter (delete the item in the Cupcake Platter)
-With a quality 2 or 3 item in the Cupcake Platter (change it to quality 1)
-With a quality 4 item in the Cupcake Platter (Transform it to quality 3)
2- If you recharge the item with batteries (and not via the rooms) it doesn't count towards the item's transformation (gives blue hearts)

Personal opinions on the improvements you've made:
"The item can't give quality 4" good idea otherwise too strong
"Activating the item prematurely no longer gives hearts when the item's quality is working" so much the better, no more bugs and the item already converts red hearts into blue hearts.

I can change it so Sayonara form can't gain Red Hearts. That was an oversight on my part.

However, on my end, the transformation works completely fine when you get Birthright before death or Transcendence. I'm not sure why that's happening for you? Does it work on death or when you pick up Transcendence?

Just tested it with and without REPENTOGON as well

Sayonara's transformation doesn't work quite right; you can still have red life. Also, if you get the birthright before dying or transcending, it only changes the skin, and you don't get the transformation's effects.
