so how does it work in game. does it blow smoke every time you hit or is it just a reg katana

Please, please, please look into the gunblade setting in Final Fantasy 8.
A gunblade is not a weapon for firing bullets.

My only critique about 'realism' is that indeed, unless this was a straight edge, the barrel wouldn't work. The easier fix would just be to offset the main barrel to fire from a cylinder along the side of the blade instead of directly on top of the blade. I think that'd look cool.

But all in all, GUNBLADE! \o/

I checked the FCS and the performance of the weapon was normal.
There is no specific negative damage to human types.

OAO)/ after i almost die 5x in Black Desert territory i found it but got :'3 DMG to Shek, can i get Dmg to human or flesh ?

You apparently don't know how the gunblade works in Final Fantasy 8.
