I often recommend people to play it with modded classes, as back in my day those on average matched or amplified average power level of a Player's roster.
I also don't mind if people adapt the mod to make it more fun, although there are no plans for me to lead separate editions.
Yeah it's very difficult, and even on Darkest some rolls can hit prohibitively hard. I would recommend using it alongside a mixture of modded classes - back in the day I personally had lots of fun with it on Darkest, as I could comfortably experiment without suffering a Game Over or feeling a lack of pushback from the enemies. Although I don't follow modding scene much nowadays, I hope same sentiment is applicable nowadays.
Thanks for checking it out and sorry for the frustration!
- Overriding files we both use by choosing either my or their version for each file.
- Manually checking out each file we both use and seeing where our versions differ, then creating a new file where our content is merged wherever possible (and if not possible, then certain bits of one or the other will have to be discarded).
Make sure you thoroughly check the compatibility patch every step of the way, crashes are fairly easy to get in DD.
I know it's probably not very helpful, but unfortunately I don't think I've time to take a hands-on approach! Wish you good luck :)
Also thank you for the kind comment <3
I have returned after many moons passing to reinstate my appreciation for your efforts on this project. You bring honor to your kinsmen with every step you take. I bestow you with the greatest distinction within my disposal. Saucy.
I will eat this bagel in your name. Stay frosty.
I eagerly await to see what comes next. I just have one inquiry:

This is a fun little mod I enjoy; my 50+ years of Darkest Dungeon tells me that as long as this mod is loaded above yours, it should take priority and operate without issue, I just want to confirm it won't be self-destruction running them both simultaneously.
Additionally, the response is greatly appreciated; I certainly did not expect one at 0430 today.
I would like to begin with stating I am always a large fan of making enemies exceptionally excruciating; and I am certainly not disappointed.
I hath some thoughts that may be of interest, however, I must proclaim my status as a filthy, even hedonistic, g*mer; therefore, they are void of any merit or value.
At the forefront, I have a bias for the Ruins. Therefore I am compelled by nature to remark that by comparison, the sentient calcium deposits have received the weakest of reworks and/or buffs. I will be comparing them to the enemies of the Sewer City/Piggy Paradise/House of Hooves/Best Game Area.
Strange as it may sound, chonkers here feels under-tuned when placed side by side to the Swine Chopper. Chopper is an apprentice level goober and already has high HP as well as fairly decent damage. However, he has received overall superior buffs. Increased HP, damage, buffs, debuffs, speed, and accuracy.
Personally, I would not be opposed to seeing a riposte *slaps steel cheeks* on this bad boy in similar fashion to Retribution functions in Man At Arms. The move forward on Crushing Blow seems redundant, at least to me, given that he can only use CB in first and second and shuffling the enemy party to place him in third/forth would (be unlikely as well as) make it impossible to use CB anyways. This is where a riposte, should it be made into its own move, would shine - a third/forth position action. It gives him something do besides spamming Ground Pound for eternity before his cheeks get clapped. Accuracy and speed are still a major issues but that'd be up to you.
He resides in a similar situation where he is outclassed by other same-tier enemies such as the Swine Slasher. Yes, the Soldier is the direct counterpart but my response to that is bone supremacy. You could either make his bonk deal a million damage or have it target all positions as well as mark heroes when it connects. That way it could provide the occasional synergy with Arbalests.
Giant:
I'll give you a biscuit if you make him prioritize Treebranch. Treebranch only; everything else is garbage.
Again, my words have the same worth as half-eaten pennies; but overall, phenomenal work. 47 stars.
