I am currently working on a modular base setup for survival where I have a very compact small ship printer/deconstructor in one, with full production and refining capabilities that connects the Ultima and a Large ship miner that I have designed. Once connected they can all fly away together and move to new locations.

It's nothing like this fortress, but it applies my new ideas in a lag-friendly package, acceptable for survival (providing you with a way to move all of your assets at once. Again, postings to come once things are finished.

maybe you should remake parts off it to bring it up to awesomeness with other builds of yours an hopefully usability would be nice to see this in exploration mode

Oh, you meant to convert it to reduce lag. Yeah, it's unavoidable. It used to be ok, but one of the patches made it work. The best you can do is to turn off the ore waterfall in the refinery area, and turn off the interior lights and spot lights.

Yep, it is pretty laggy. Nothing i can do about that with the game in it's current state. If you want to make it into a station, Just convert the main structure in SEToolbox :)

The crusher platorm (with all of the landing gear) has to be classified as a "Large Ship". If you built it off of the station and detached it by deleting the attaching blocks, then it counts as a station and will not move.

I tried copy your design of crusher room at my station. I went down to detials. My crusher wont go anywhere. Landgear is unlock. rotar spinning in right way. and Crusher's not move at all

Pimp ship. Personally, I get a decent bump in fps wth no color changes on my large ship builds if that helps anyone. Terrible having boring grey but it really helps me currently.

TO IMPROVE PERFORMANCE: Turn off all interior/exterior lights, turn off spotlights, turn off refinery connectors (the ore water falls), and turn off the turrets.

This should help you with both rendering and update lag.

This map gives me warnings that the renderer is overloaded. And it's way too laggy (10FPS maybe). I have an i7 4930k (6 core), nVidia GTX 780 OC, 32GB RAM, 550MB/s SSD and it's unplayable for me even @ 1920x1080.

Also, one of the compact ships has broken through the hull on rear landing gear.

It looks like a lot of detailed work went into it. Shame it I can't really explore it in more detail.

Not sure if you solved it or not, but in the version I am running, the knocking sound is coming from the wheels at the top and bottom of the crusher. If you examine the wheels in question, they are bending upwards. I think the issue is that there is too much force against the wheels and they are having some glitch issues. When I turned up braking and stoped the crusher in the middle of its track, there was no sound at all.

Not sure what the fix action should be. Never done a wheel-avator before so I don' know what could help. All the same, I hope it helps.

Try OBS. Decent quality output, free, and fairly easy to use once you get the video synched up. Also, impressive construction effort.

Thank you for your review, I'd like to respond to it:

What do you mean by accesability? I don't quite follow that bit, as you don't touch on it in your review. If you mean the accessibility through the command console, with the use of key words in the search function, the groups all appear together, along with their locking mechanisms. Easy.

As for living quarters, this is not a role playing creation, and this game has no need for living quarters themselves. To include them in the design is not an efficient use of space. I am not a fan of empty rooms that I imagine to have purpose. Nor am I a fan of using blocks like passageways as "Bunks". When they add interior item blocks such as bunks, tables and consoles, I will use them then.
