Mod has been updated. Now also inclused updated graphics and a new innovation with a new MaA unit: Handgonniers.

Note that previous versions also work. The game does NOT overwrite any files. The warning in the launcher can be disregarded. For the future, this mod will remain operational, even if no formal update is released.

@SvG It shouldn't from a quick look at the files. It doesn't overwrite any vanilla files, and certainly nothing that was adjusted in 1,15.

would like if the AI had a modifier to *REALLY* want independence or to make it so in order to get princely administration, you had to get a new level of crown authority that would make your vassals despise you

@Julien - Yo - in your code you need to do a find/replace:

Find: "modifier"
Replace with: "character_modifier"

PDX must have updated the syntax. Old code does nothing.

Probably not a historical approach but gameplay wise by this era, it would be cool to have upgraded maa types that are half size but do double the damage.

@Julien Just tried this and I can see the Renaissance Era and all the innovations appear in my game, however when I hover over any of them, it doesn't display the effect. Tested with only this mod running.

Not sure if it's just a display issue or they have no effect as I have yet to play a game to the renaissance era and research any of them. The same issue appears to have also affected 'More Regional Innovations' mod as well, so hoping just a display issue.

Hope that helps track down the issues. Looks like a great mod!

Thanks for beefy answer, but let me add something. AI can neglect MaA, that's true. However, incresing MaA stats (like plate armour innovation) instead of numbers would serve same purpouse with less punishment for dim AI.
Fixed duchy limit is a real bummer! Although "Direct vassal opinion +20" could fix part of the issue!
About decrease in taxes and levies: I have no hard data on that, but i doubt renaissance kings' income was twice as large as 100-200 years earlier, same with army size. I'm all for centralisation that +10 domain gives, but side effects of that (moniez and levies) seem to make it all way too unbalanced.
Please reconsider!

- reduced domain limit increased: the increase is large to model the increased royal demesne in this time period. Though, it would be better to give higher demesne increases in earlier eras and reduce the one in this mod. However, I want this mod to be a standalone mod (it only adds file, doesn't change any).

- increase duchy limit: high on my wishlist as well! Unfortunately, not possible with how the game is currently coded: you can only set the duchy limit at a fixed number for the entire game, but it's not possible to link the increase to an innovation. So you can have a duchy limit of 2,3,4,5,... but it will be at that amount from the earliest start to the end of the game. If anyone does know of a way to implement this, please let me know!

Hi,

While what you suggest indeed sounds cool, and I can also understand it from a historical point of view, I'm afraid it won't be implemented for following reasons:

- fewer levy for more MaA: I simply do not know how this will affect the AI. If the AI underdevelops its holdings and gets the innovations, it will lose levies, while gaining a higher MaA limit, but does not have the resources to build those extra MaA.

With more extensive modding, this perhaps could be fixed. Unfortunately I do not have the time to do it. However, feel free to create a submod!
