I have thought of changing it to be something akin to a, "build once and upgrade" kind of tool but, it does not quite fit with Terraria's progression; specifically considering tools.

When you get to hard-mode you do not just take your Molten Pickaxe and take it to an anvil and craft it with 5 cobalt bars to upgrade it. You have to build an entire new Pickaxe.

So for the foreseeable future, it is going to continue to remain as it is.

i'd reccomend changing it so only the first tier requires three tools and the rest after are 10 bars of each plus the previous tier

now fuse them with bug nets since you can use the critter book from the zoologist to disable damaging critters

For the Prehardmode table: PreHardmode HamSaxe Crafting Table: 1 Copper/Tin Tool + 5 Copper/Tin Bars

For the Hardmode table: Hardmode HamSaxe Crafting Table: 1 Cobalt/Palladium tool + 10 Cobalt/Palladium Bars
