Just want you to know, i've noticed a bunch of beam blocks used for thruster decoration get incinerated due to proximity to thrusters once i have this mod installed, you should probably add that to this mod's description

My physical shape limit has shrunk from 65536 to just 33841.

I sent a link to your mod and Keen Software House to see if they would like to implement something similar in the game.
So that the player can set block compression for each object via the "control panel" in the "Information" tab, for example by checking the "Block compression of this object" option.

I hope you do not mind it?

For instance, I'd imagine that almost all of the furniture from the Decorative Packs could use less physics shapes.

That's super cool. I enjoy working on very massive large-grid builds (30-70k+ PCU), so physics optimizations like these are extremely valuable for performance. Are you planning on any additions to this mod (ie: optimizing more blocks)?

It only replaces existing blocks, so ships built using it can be loaded in worlds with no mods.

If the ship goes over the shape limit, some blocks won't have any collisions but everything will still be visible and functional.

Can ships made with this mod be loaded/played by people who don't have the mod, or does this just add new blocks into the game?

I'm a bit mixed on this. I'm working on a traction city and quickly approaching the shape limit, but I'm counting on the vanilla shapes for several functions. I've always gotten around the limit by using subgrids.

i would disagree for mainly the beams, i often use them as rails for things like gantry cranes
