That's alright, I only like the the Molotov fire to the ground and you don't have to be fully detail about the mod it will be too much work ^^;

It's quite possible that everything he changed was in the same effects pack essentially, so if I were to change the fire effects only, then you probably wouldn't get the rest of what he changed for weapon smoke being barely visible and whatnot.

Does that mod change too many effects and you just want the fire change? Alot of the effects are connected to the same file when you are modding L4D2, so you may have conflicts if you want a smoke mod on top of a fire mod for instance.
