This is a standard Cooking job (a long one), while the PF version uses a smoker and processes over time.

I want use VCE - Sushi together with [RF] Fishing, but need Vanilla fishing to add the meme for fishing culture and now i have a tons of different fishes haha, i have decide to remove the vanilla fishing and sushi to make less bloat and use the RF sushi meals instead.

You trim meat and clean fish at the butcher table. It requires Pemmican research (This is the comments section for the non-Processor Framework version, by the way).

This might be a stupid question, but how do I use this? Under processes it only offers me Smoked meat > Trimmed meat (dunno how to trim it), and the same with fish only it says cleaned fish.

Just checked it, it's using the Foods category rather than RawMeat, which is what I've just done.

Oddly the dried meat mod from kotobike / TheGoofyOne works fine IIRC.

I've pushed an update that clears the error, however, smoked meat/fish is now a meal a la pemmican and can't be used as an ingredient. Hopefully this is temporary; other mods with smoked meat are in a similar situation so hopefully a more complete fix can be found so it can be used as ingredients again.

There is a error with Biotech DLC, pawns with the Hemogen Gene will be unable to eat the smoked meat from this mod, I will post the error log in the discussion folder.

Thank you, I like the processor version the most. Smoking meat requires time, because the meat loses liquid over time.

So I'm unable to duplicate this with just Core (and expansions) and this mod loaded. I suspect another mod is affecting it. Is anyone else seeing the issue?

Heads up there seems to be an issue with human meat not being edible after being smoked.
Pawns keep trying to eat it put drop it after the consume animation.

I was awfully confused by the trim balance changed mentioned, but I guess it's just for the PF version of this mod and the non-PF version has no value/balance changes, just gfx?

It didn't seem like the this exact mod (2594528677) previously had anything to do with trimmed meat and that was only PF ZSM (2671357344), correct?

Thanks very much for the excellent art and thought-out balance changes; I'm pushing an update to both this and the PF edition momentarily. I don't always play this game in a fully "legit" manner (I love dev mode and game modes like Winston Waves, mods like Zombieland, etc. - I play fast and loose as the old saying goes) so I take any balance suggestions seriously. The original settings from this mod were also from an old, old mod so it's absolutely likely that changes were needed. Anyway, as always let me know if you see any issues, and thanks again!

I made new textures for trimmed and smoked meat. It's stackable and colourable.
Changed appropriate files to reflect that. Also included the below suggestion, if you would consider it.

Suggestion - set conversion rate for meat recipe from raw to trimmed to be 10:8 or 10:5.
Trimming means removing fat, that's a lot of calories. Aside from being realistic it also makes it a bit more balanced - in pure calories it's worse than pemmican but requires no veggies.

Thanks for the feedback! I am currently testing a version of this mod that requires [SYR] Processor Framework that will function in exactly the way you describe. The long cooking time in this mod is a result of me keeping it a standard cooking recipe (so as to not require any additional mods). I'll be posting the PF version soon.

Way too much work to smoke meat, I mean like it's taking my pawn all day to smoke 40 meat, can you change smoking to be more like composting? Just put the meat in while it's lit and eventually you get smoked meat.

Regarding nutrition, etc ... smoked meat may be using count rather than nutrition for the recipe. Now that I'm using VFE more I've noticed some things and will be making some updates on balance, etc. Suggestions always welcome.

pt2 - which fishing mod are you using, out of curiousity? In my testing, all the mods I tested except Vanilla Fishing Expanded were 1-1 ... VFE would depend on what kind of fish.

Hey, just a heads up. I bought some Smoked Fish from a merchant but it started disappearing. I hadn't yet set any recipes to use the fish. I then noticed one of my cooks put the smoked fish in the the Smoker. It turns out that you can use Smoked Fish as an ingredient for Smoked Meat.
(However, you can not use Smoked Meat as an ingredient for Smoked Fish)

When you set a Smoked Meat bill and click the Details button, you get a list of "Meat" to make Smoked Meat from. One of the sub-categories under "Meat" is "Raw Fish" and one of the "Raw Fish" items is "Smoked Fish".

The math also seems strange.
-Note: I use a mad that turns all meat (except insect, human, aerowfleet and ocular meat) into plain Raw Meat-

My Pawns use 40 Raw Meat (at 0.05 Nutrition each) to make 40 Smoked Meat (at 0.08 Nutrition each) This by itself seems a little odd.
To make Smoked Meat out of Smoked Fish, my pawns only use 27 Smoked Fish (at 0.08 Nutrition each) to make 40 Smoked Meat (at 0.08) Nutrition each) Not sure I understand what's going on here.

Not really a problems, as far as I'm concerned, but thought you should know.
