EXACTLY what I was looking for. would it be a lot of trouble to make a similar mod for insect meat?
Cappuccino 6. aug. kl. 18:41
Simple and effective, appreciate it
Aki-San 21. juli kl. 10:30
its so sad that a mod like this must be made... shows how little TLC the base game / DLCs get...

@Syrus 1.6?

@JDECF

Well, I haven't tried "mushrooms are ok" but they shouldn't interact that much with each other. That mod is disbaling the "despice fungus" default option and this mod here is adding variety to the precept itself. I tihnk, if you use idelogy developement +, this mod and that mod you get a nice synergy as ID+ makes quickly picked, static ideos into fluids, mushrooms are ok remove the penalty and fungus precept gives you more options to develope your ideo.
NerdEmoji 18. aug. 2024 kl. 3:16
Ok, between this and "Mushrooms are ok" which do y'all think is better
Jaggid Edje 4. juni 2024 kl. 14:15
Mushrooms are one of my favorite foods irl; it drove me crazy I couldn't do a fungus precept like what you have added with this mod. Loving something doesn't mean you hate everything else...the vanilla game's all-or-nothing take on it is kind of ridiculous.

Thank you for making and sharing this mod.
graublau 23. maj 2024 kl. 15:20
Thanks a bunch for the quick answer <3
Syrus  [ophavsmand] 23. maj 2024 kl. 15:19
Never tested.
At worst one would overwrite the other (depending on load order, if both defs are named the same).
It could also be that both mods add their options, in that case you'd have both "Tolerated" options available (if the defs are not named the same). Potentially without being able to tell which comes from which mod.

As the author states that its an XML-only mod, I don't see why there'd be any issues aside from the above.

So there should not be anything game breaking - just overwriting or duplication.
graublau 23. maj 2024 kl. 14:39
Is this compatible with the survivalist meme, which also adds Fungus Tolerated, but not Appreciated? https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2799400398

Dan Dannigan 12. apr. 2024 kl. 6:13
is this compatible with 1.5?
kongkim 3. mar. 2024 kl. 14:13
Anyone know if you have this and the precept that do your pawns don't like plants, will they still get a mood penalty?

i love you

make it so that tunnelers or tunneler-having ideologies that like fungus dont get food poisoning from it.

Hyperventilator 4. feb. 2023 kl. 7:29
Thanks for the mod Syrus! Good job!
CORVOID 8. dec. 2022 kl. 9:59
Thank goodness. I always figured that Tunnelers shouldn't dislike normal plants.

Thank you!
Syrus  [ophavsmand] 23. okt. 2022 kl. 2:30
Looks like they just fixed a typo in the update. Had to adjust for that, updated for 1.4 now.
ChrisHatesGeese 22. okt. 2022 kl. 16:03
Any plans to update for 1.4? I would appreciate it, and I can't be the only one.
diederickabecker 3. apr. 2022 kl. 14:13
Thanks for making this! I hate how people either despise eating mushrooms or want nothing but mushrooms. Even the dev tools are no help (can't remove the mushroom aspect from an ideology). People in the future wouldn't be so black-and-white about mushrooms.
I hope the devs fix this, but in the mean time I'm very grateful for this mod.
smitty_the_smith 27. mar. 2022 kl. 13:22
I have a cosmopolitan base and I can't seem to feed my tunnelers and my non-tunnelers correctly. Is there a way to distinguish between fungus-meals and non-fungus meals automatically?
Clam Slamwich 26. okt. 2021 kl. 19:34
I love mushrooms so damn much!
Moonshine Fox 10. okt. 2021 kl. 13:39
Thank you for this. I wanted to play the Alpha Biome mushroom forest, but not have to make a cult that needs to live underground or avoid eating all the plants to do so.
Vagineer1 19. sep. 2021 kl. 9:45
Thanks for the info. Never planned to pick despised, the way I see it, the more type of food available the better.
Syrus  [ophavsmand] 19. sep. 2021 kl. 9:26
@Vagineer1
Technically, yes.
This mod adds two options for the Fungus-precept, both available to Tunnelers, so you can replace the "Preferred" option.

"Tolerated" makes eating fungus have no affect on mood (available to all).
"Appreciated" gives a mood buff when consuming fungus, without a debuff when eating non-fungus food (only available to Tunnelers).

Only limitation which is kept unchanged from vanilla: you can't pick "Despised" as a Tunneler.
Vagineer1 19. sep. 2021 kl. 8:10
I'm curious, does this mod make it so that you aren't forced to have fungus food as required in the tunneler meme? That was the only reason I have never gone for that meme.
ODevil 16. sep. 2021 kl. 6:23
This is much appreciated. IRL i also don't go full on hate or worship on normal shrooms.

I hear that those are viciously delicious.

Maybe Tynan had too many infected mushrooms.
Then again, in my opinion, that'd probably make him like fungus even more...
Omega13 29. aug. 2021 kl. 8:25
why does Tynan hate mushrooms so much
KoT Sagris 29. aug. 2021 kl. 7:50
You don't sound like you're a fungi. I don't think your name is Gus and you really don't sound all that fun. That guy over there though, he sounds fun. Everyone says he is a fun guy. Not you though, not you. I'm going to go over and talk to that other body over there. He seems fruiting and this mycobiota over here seems to have taken the droll to the sun. Fungi indeed.
combatant 28. aug. 2021 kl. 18:06
THE FUNGUS
Syrus  [ophavsmand] 28. aug. 2021 kl. 16:25
I'm more concerned with the thoughts that are added by "Appreciated" when removing the mod.
Did a quick test and the Fungus-precept missing is probably not problematic. But the thought didn't get removed and I didn't have time to test whether it ever does get removed afterwards. The thought also behaves weirdly, going blank on mouse over and not showing a tooltip.

My recommendation is definitely not to remove a mod from a save file (unless you somehow make sure that all things related to it are gone from the save file before removing the mod).

But this was about adding it to a save file.
And I don't see a reason why that should not work.
Probably.
TSense 28. aug. 2021 kl. 15:54
On day one when the DLC came out I went into the savefile with a text editor and throw the fungus precept out. There is no problem if it is just missing from your ideology and the lack of it triggers no effects up or down.
cubicPsycho 28. aug. 2021 kl. 9:09
I can just use dev mode and edit my current ideo's precepts
Syrus  [ophavsmand] 28. aug. 2021 kl. 8:45
It should be fine to add to a save.
Not sure if there's a point to doing so, unless the new fluid ideology thing allows for modifying precepts. Haven't had time to play with it yet.

Do NOT remove it from a save though, I'm quite certain that is likely to cause problems. (It may be fine if no ideology is using the added options, but I'd not take the risk without a back up save.)

@Simmin
I was thinking about it.
Reason I didn't do it is because there's no penalty for eating non-insect meat meals with that precept. So I didn't consider it as important, and to me it makes more sense than the fungus precept.
It probably would not be too much of a hassle to add two new options to the precept: "Don't mind" and "Required" (something like the cannibalist precept, which requires eating human meat every now and then at least, maybe).

Nutrition paste also only has two options.
cubicPsycho 28. aug. 2021 kl. 8:30
Is this fine to add to a save?
Simmin 28. aug. 2021 kl. 4:27
having a "dont care" precept for insect meat would be cool too
Anon 28. aug. 2021 kl. 4:13
Oh no no no Tynan is gonna freak
