As per the description: “Note that this is for RP flavor only, and will have no effect if used for a player empire”

The purpose of the mod is to let you create your own primitive empires to popular the galaxy with.

@Yutah not trying to discount what you said, just dotting the T’s and crossing the I’s to make sure. Did you create any empires with these origins and set them forced to spawn? I don’t believe these are allowed with randoms.

This mod doesn't appear to be working in the latest version of Stellaris.

Tested it with only the mod loaded, used survey and communications console commands and searched star system names and all species, no sign of my custom primitive.

Really unfortunate because this mod would have been perfect for my current roleplaying idea. :steamsad:

@Inerael Here's the best part, the mod doesn't appear to need an update, so you can go ahead and use it in 4.0. If you do actually find a problem with it, post about it.

I think it would be cool to tie these in to the Distant Origins Mod, Lost Colony Style or Regressed Home-world (similar in aspect to the Shoulders of Giants Origin)
They're both Essential Mods in my games.

Does this take a 'slot' regular empires would take, or does it replace species that would've already been Pre-FTL without the mod installed?

@0zzymandeus I believe the name changes when they become spacefaring, so yes, that could happen. :P

Forgive me for asking rather than trying to find out myself:

If the customized civilization reaches the space stage after its ethics and/or civics were altered by events or outside influence, will it retain the same name you gave it?

Would be hilarious if the Voor Technocracy became the Voor Theocracy, for instance.

@Mzilli As I'm building new empires to be pre-FTLs I got to thinking. Is it possible to make a companion mod that will set a pre-defined Empire as one of the advanced ones?

I really like this mod but it appears to have some issues. I've tested it a bit and it seems that with the new first contact DLC, the customisable primitives don't have portraits unless made aware. If you try and engage in diplomacy with unaware primitives you customised, you no longer get text from other normal empires when clicking on their contact screen.

There also seems to be an issue where the customised primitives do not advance technologically at all, so it's only possible to, as prior to first contact. Observe them forever or invade them. I've also had an issue where sometimes insight interface just disappears after the first insight event.

I have taken off and added multiple mods to test what causes these and I believe it's this mod. I may be wrong, and mean no insult if I am but I'd love you, the creator to also test these issues and tell me if I'm wrong.

@Ishkabeebee Are they set to use the "Random" starting system? Using the premades can sometimes cause issues with force-spawning. If that's not the problem, try reinstalling again.

I also am having problems spawning custom primitives -- I tried a couple times, making 3 customized primitives, setting them as forced to spawn, and setting the AI empire number to 3 as well, but random non-primitive empires spawned instead, both times I tried.

I recently reinstalled this mod, and it's first time I've ever had issues with it after months of error-free play.

Okay, this issue with the empires not all spawning wasn't a problem with the mod. For some reason the game is having issues using custom empires with randomized names. Naming each one manually ensured they all spawns. The only problem is the L-gate thing, but I imagine that's just a matter of updating.

Also using this mod seems to force L-gates to spawn even if you have that set to off, but I can't figure out why since it doesn't seem to actually touch those files, even though it was fine before using this mod?

I'm having an issue where I have 7 primitive Empires, but only 1 or 2 of them spawn. No matter what settings I use as far as AI Empires and Primitives, only two of them max spawn. The Solar Systems are all set to random. I thought maybe it was because some of them had the same Primitive Origin, but then at least three should spawn - and I even went into the files to change "max_global", it didn't make a difference.

Ohh, but this mod allow you to customize the primitives that spawn in the game, but transform empires in primitives instead.
It is interesting but could be improved. I think it would be much more helpful if you could actually establish the true primitive civilizations.

I would like a mod or maybe have paradox do themselves that you can do more than just study or conquer. That you can exploit them for resources as well.

@Pamparampampamparam Marauders would be easy, Fallen Empires would be tricky but probably doable. I'll see what I can do.

@michelbosman They won't be primitives if you play as them, and the origins don't do anything in that case.
