1) I respect the troll and can laugh at the situation.

They've been updated to 1.4 and merged into a general FFXIV Animals mod.

I hope this isn't a bother to ask, but is this going to be updated to 1.4? Would love to use it. Thanks for all your work!

@Thundercraft - If you had looked at FF Animals, you'd see there's mod options to toggle each animal.

Q: Is this going to get updated for 1.4? Or will the only way to have Chocobos in 1.4 be to subscribe to the "Erin's Final Fantasy Animals" and have all the animals?

Very cute mod, they seem to work fine with CE from what I've tested.

Fair enough. Personally I never even noticed because I just don't fool with genetics, it's... It's a little overwhelming and feels like something I'll eventually get into someday as sort of post-game content when I've completed my run.

I'll look into a patch but I make no promises, and it will ONLY be to .ake them drop avian genes. I'm not creating some sort of wacky hybrids.

I never really fool with the genetics stuff myself. It's in there but I'm always like "Nope"

The Vanilla Expanded mods are kind of like unofficial expansion packs though, they're kind of a big deal.

@ParasiticSquid - making them drop the correct gene would probably be a simple patch, but since you're like "but they won't fit in the playthrough waaahh!" Then it ruins my motivation to even bother writing a patch.

Alpha Animals adds these birds called Ave that are essentially Chocobo.
Vanilla Achievements Expanded even has an Achievement for if you tame one, called "Not a Chocobo" and it says "Wark?"

It's Vanilla Genetics Expanded compatible. I love Chocobo but if you want to Genome Tinker with them you could do it with an Ave it's basically a Chocobo.

Understandable but still unfortunate missed opportunity. So they can't have avian genes extracted? If so that's.. odd for obvious reasons. Ill try it but ill have to remove it if they can't since makes no sense in a genetics expanded playthrough otherwise

So.. do these have vanilla genetics expanded compat so I can extract avian genomes from them? Also if you ever feel in the mood to add too the genetic abominations of genetics expanded imagine this: Chocobo hybrid genetic abominations.

For example: Chocobo/thrumbo, chocobo/bee, chocobo/frickin t-rex, or chocobo/literal eldrtich horror from beyond the stars. Just a bunch of bird hybrids that look like mutated chocobos that specialize in caravan usage like equine and muffalo hybrids but are more capable of combat. I for one would ride a giant feathered t-rex with a beak into battle

:D They're amazing battle mounts because they're so crazy fast.

My Chocobo won't fight when trained and set to follow and fight while drafted for some reason.

I love them though, they's so fast and super helpful.

I wish they could cast Choco Magic but that'd be broken. Still if someone made a rimworld of magic submod that gave them Chocobo Magics it'd be... Broken...

All of the FFXIV colours are in this pack, so.. Probably?

It's literally a mod option for their trainability. It's set to intermediate by default.

"I'm sorry people have been demanding things, that sucks. I have a colony with meadow aves and chocobos and they look really pretty next to each other. Riding into battle on my massive ostriche army is very satisfying.

I was just coming to see if their inability to be trained them as rescue pets was some sort of glitch because of the graphic.

The harness for caravans is very cool

Its very common for people in Final Fantasy to eat chocobos :)

Is it weird to eat chocobos? Kinda feels like eating a dog or a horse. Trying to decide on the ethics of this.

And what about their eggs?

@Ole Hockey Thighs - Played FFXIV since 2.0 beta. ;) The Ivalice names would be fantastic to use. We'll see.

@Erin I shall wait patiently (as humanly possible anyway). If you are looking for inspiration for armor names other than the material it's made of, FFT has some pretty great ones. If you play/ed FFXIV you might recall the Ivalice raids. 10/10 would recommend.

SIDE NOTE :: If you ever wanted to add armor for the chocobos even as a separate mod I wouldn't mind.

@Ole Hockey Thighs - No idea on that one! It should work if the defname was added to the list. I'm not sure, I'm sorry. :( It will 100% work on the next save, though.
