You will need to make sure all the mods are loaded.
Any mods modifying the shoulders could be the problem child.

My recommendation is go down the comments to when I did a walkthrough and see if that helps.

A clean folder, mod by mod, until you find the problem. Odds are good it is a mod that was updated that broke some older mods.

hey, quick question. I watched Odd's playthrough of this campaign at the time and was loving the mods especially Covert Infil, but I wanted to wait to play it until I had a decent enough PC.
I remember that Odd was having an issue with some armor parts not fitting together well and part of the body seeming invisible. But I also remember that in a later episode he got it figured out and then it worked for him.
The same issue is happening with my game and I can't find the episode where he talks about having fixed it.
Does anyone know what I have to change so that my characters don't always invisible shoulders?

crash on 1st haven defence mission success, everytime :(
I deleted everything and re verified integrity and re installed mods.
ran smoother, but ye, mission haven, and freeze lock after chosen kidnaps my dude

Process to do, yes it works, but you need to remove all mods REQUIRING it. Otherwise computer says no.

Question is it safe to remove covert infiltration from the pack?

If you followed the steps and still not working there must be a crash log that will give you some hint.

i have the mods added but the game wont load...is anyone else having this problem?

Certain missions can only have 2-3, but larger infiltrates can have 5.
Double check the mods are loaded, in order and work through the debug steps I put. If all else fails then this is a new issue.

Anyone have the issue where it only lets you have 2 soldiers for infiltration's? I've done all the mentioned steps and even fully reinstalled my game and cleared the config folder but, I'm still having the same issue.

Nah mate. You should but I didn't have all of them. The mod manager will let you know what dlc you should have, vs what you need.

Do I need every DLC for this fella to work appropriately and not CTD?

@kusshea, using your antivirus, block the launcher from seeing the network. So you can only play offline, but nothing will update when using that EXE launcher.
Block network traffic only, not the exe from running.

Is there a way to stop updates to mods? I was playing this campaign and one of the mods updated to what I assume will be used for 2022. I don't like how a new mechanic was thrusted in the middle of my game.

I'm using the xcom alternate launcher and I checked off the check for updates box but it still does it.

This is a copy and paste. It is on this page all the steps and working mods.
If you follow these steps and go through the mods on this page still a bit below, you will nail it my friend.

5. Loaded game into menu. Left for a few mins and quit
6. Used alt mod launcher and let it do its thing.
7. you should get 4 missing dependants....
7.1 download them, 2 are required and CTD without.

It was good until first attack, so I disabled cosmetics only.

Listing them now that are DISABLED (so my list i added 1 mod i thinks... i think)

On this page still is all 207 working mods. Some people get more to work magically. A bit of trial and error will be needed. Goodluck mate.

just started campaign but all the new soldiers to recruit or rescue are from the original classes not the new ones?

I have a problem with the game and the mods. Everything was working fine till like 3 days ago when after a succesfull mission starts loading new screen and it just freezes.
I try to load another saved game ( I have few) and go another mission and after the mission and mission briefing again freezing on loading screen.
Does anybody knows what I can do with that ?
I really do not want to lose all my campaing, please help

yea. in the pack list he tells you he has all the DLC.

Do these mods require DLCs to be installed? Chen's Gift and Alien Hunters?

you gotta check the beginning of the discussion.

We have about 9 steps and checks myself and the smart fellas here made.

Have a read, check the steps and systematically try 1 mod, eliminate 1 issue and youll be sorted!


Also, just beat the campaign. WAY HARD!!!! i lost 28 soldiers....

I subscribed to these mods, but when I load the game, none of the mods have changed anything. I made sure loader has mods enabled and all of these are checked. What am I doing wrong?

I had the same problem and just found the solution. Looks like Unrestricted Customization is causing an override. Some mods say they require this mod, but I just disabled it and my game still runs fine. Now the outfits are changing like they're supposed to

Do anyone know what mod he running that make the lost attacked aliens too.

I had that problem with the first retaliation mission. I managed to fix mine and a few other peoples with my steps.

Just double check the mods are actually loaded.

Man just hit a run killer. The game stays stuck loading when the advent forge mission is complete. I have a save before the mission but cant beat the game if I cant do the mission.

Also, my troops armor never seems to change with upgrades.

It should change, otherwise double check the mods are actually loaded.
As per my original comments, it is so finicky.

If you tried my procedures earlier in the comments with no luck, you are the first to have this problem.

I've got one major issue, my troops never change armor. They stay in the default outfits and nothing changes visually. Civilian suits, upgraded armor, Advent suit, the spider suit, exo suit, non it changes. Running the mods from the alternative mod launcher.

For anyone else on here, Yellow Alert is the perpetrator, hook line and sinker! It makes all the difference in forming some maps to be insanely hard. Including adding units to pods in "Ambush" scenarios and sending them all your way; making those maps much more difficult.

If you think difficulty is at a good balance keep it.
If not, remove OR fiddle with the ini files. Yellow alert dev has some suggestions for easing the difficulty.

Meanwhile, Chris Odd can keep suffering. He's just a little behind me in my campaign. ;)
He's really good, but I bet it'll start getting too difficult. ha!

I have been digging around for the past our. I THINK it's yellow alert.

Lot's of things to consider and certainly the enemies are harder...
But yellow alert gives unactivated pods a 50/50 to come running your direction. In smaller maps or in ambush missions, this is a bit of a nightmare.

It is. Not sure what pack makes it so hard, even on easy it is INSANE.

But even then, I'm going up against pods with like, three archon primes.

grand sectoid or whatever the shit.

Honestly, I'd rather face off against 3 chosen. 2 sectopods with 6 armour each on NORMAL!?!?

9. Had 1 crash so I moved game to Windows disc.
10. No crash since...

If you still get issues sort by size and remove cosmetic mods. The game has issues keeping a huge buffer in the order.

Assault plate cosmetic armour and meaty abs gave me lots of problems had none since their uninstall

@drolbmudoboh Still not working, deleted config under steam folder, and tried to use the alternate mod launcher but no lucky, any tips friends? maybe someone figured which mods to disable? PS: Also did a fresh install several times.

Delete the config folders and use the alternate mod launcher. I have not had a crash in 4 days now.

I am down to 207 mods and so stable like butter. FPS on full 4k is 65FPS

i just reduced the cosmetic mods only and working soooooooooo good.

One of them is the culprit.

I started with all the recommended mods and Christopher Odd was the only soldier on the mission. I know he's good but just by himself?
