http://www.mudrunnermods.com/spintiresmod-exe-v1-10-19/ use this link to download the spintiremod. The process in following the steps to complete the installation takes some time and patience.
You'll require winzip or a similar program to alter some files. The instructions are in the file that is downloaded!. Read and follow each step carefully.
I have done so myself and not only is fraser island working. SpinTireMod has also improved the overall game experience and the graphics are so much better!

Followed the step by step install for spintiresmod and no option for multiplayer anymore. Spintiresmod is useless anyway. Will just go back to maps that don't use the spintiresmod I guess.

It requires it because of the map dimensions. The maximum map size the game allows is 64*64 grid, so 1km x 1km square. This map is 40*200 640m x 3.2km. Spinmod removes the map size restriction
