Yes, it probably needs a minor update.

How about water usage in production?

Your math is correct but if you factor in the transports it works out to be about the same. This building only produces 1.6 tonns of food vs 20 tonns vanilla factory. You would have to build 15 of these to make one vanilla factory and then link them all together with warehouses or trucks. The logistics will eat you alive.

Given on a small scale this building is better but it will never make you big money. It is designed to help with the start of the game on cosmonaut mode. As the game progresses you will quickly outgrow what this factory can produce.

For my just started game wood is 10 RUB, food is 120 RUB and crops are 20 RUB. That comes out to 192 RUB of food produced, and 44 RUB worth of inputs consumed, for a total surplus of 148 RUB/day, or 18.5 RUB/day/worker. The vanilla factory produces 20 tons of food worth 2400 RUB, consuming 42 tons of crops worth 840 RUB, with 170 workers. This comes out to a surplus of 1560 RUB, or ~9.18 RUB per worker. So to me it seems that this building is a lot more productive than the vanilla food factory, disregarding transports, or is my math wrong?

It also consumes wood so it is balanced.

It consumes 2 tons of crops to make 1.6 tons of food, this is a lot more efficient than the food factory. Is this balanced?

It needs some electricity yes, to run mixers and lighting.

as it uses wood (to heat the ovens, I suppose?), does it need electricity?
