For some reason I can't download this mod at all right now, the AML refuses to take it. What should I do?

If you have problems with your vipers not having the option to equip MAW's when changing the loadout of a viper, I have finally figured out that https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1123704945 - Ammo and Vest Slots actually essentially removes the slot from the loadout screen (but not the menu where you set up your party for missions), stopping you from equipping MAW's [the default one always seemed to be equipped but randomly disappear]. So far it seems incompatible with this mod :goobert:.

For my own local character mod i allowed this character to use the MAW Slot in the XComViperMAWConfig.ini with an appropiate line +AllowedViperCharacterTemplates="mychar".
In Game this character has the MAW Slot, but all Weapons with the weapon category "maw" shows the hint (only for vipers) and can not be equipped.
Other Weapon categories (allowed by the entry +AllowedMAWWeaponCategories="utility") can be equipped to this slot.
Is there any other restriction to vipers in the code? For example for the weapon category?

You don't NEED that stuff to get Vipers, but it will work. Without it, you can still get them the way Pico said in the previous comment.

You suppose to have fulton reward and extract corps mods, also having non lethal mod would be nice here so you can basically stun viper or weakened them enought (3hp or less i think), subdue themn extract them with fulton or hold them unconcious then recruit them trought the interrogation facility.
Forgot to say than to pull that one, you need interogation and recruitment mod, there is also a mod to get the viper king this way, the viper king is a bit buggy with mod but he is still very strong.

Vipers can be recruited in their own section of the Avenger menus, or you can find them in the Grey Market.

Why does this mod and other allies unknown mods require alien hunters? And is it possible to use these mods without alien hunters?

Well... now the 'bind' ability sometimes just doesn't have extra options for more attacks (after binding the enemy).

Tongue Pull -> Bind -> No options for Choke/Crush/Subdue. No idea what causes it

Do you have the viper implants equipped? Even without upgrades, they still need a basic implant for the abilities to work properly.

So I have an issue; maybe anyone here has had it and know how to fix it: none of the viper have their spit and tongue pull abilties (neither for enemy or allies). Torque, a viper squadmate modded in the game from Chimera squad that uses allies unknown starts with the tongue pull and spit abilities in the very first mission of the game where she shows up; but after promoting her (and mostly likely even without promoting her) the tongue pull and spit abilities are just gone. Other Vipers never have the abilities in the first place.

Anyone any idea due to what this is? I'm using the Alternative Mod Launcher and it makes not warning about conflicts with the mod.

Super weird bug that I'm getting: When I use Bound on an enemy and then have the subsequent attack menu come up (Crush, Choke, etc), none of these abilities do anything. No damage, no nothing. It just uses an action point and that's it.

Spit / Tongue Pull / etc all work fine. Any ideas?

It sounds like you are missing the mod Custom Soldiers Evac Zone Fix. That allows non-standard soldier types to use evacs, including the stage transitions in chosen strongholds.

Hi,

First of: great mod, i love it. :steamthumbsup:

Secondly: i´ve got a problem:

Right now i´m in a Chosen-Base and have cleared the first floor. So far, so good.

But now i am standing on the plattform to move to the second floor but the two Viper´s i´ve brought can´t move to the second floor (the main chaimber with the sarcophagus).
They just move back to the Avenger (like not standing on the plattform) and only my "regular" (human and spark) soldier´s are getting through.
I already had a similar warning at the Avenger-Defend-Mission but after taking off i did not lose the snake (i think - no such info).
Can someone tell me, how to solve that issue?
I really hope thad it is something i can change mid run

There already is one, search the workshop for "torque", it's the first one that comes up.

One small note. Hilariously enough, your viper soldiers are not immune to gaining the ophidiophobia trait aka fear of snakes. Well, better not look in the mirror I guess. Or at your squadmates

Unsure if this is a conflict between this mod, other recruitable alien mods, and lwotc but anytime a viper attempts to bind (friendly or hostile) the game ctd's

Removing the XcomViperAbilities.ini in config seems to allow vipers to bind again without ctd but the bind itself becomes broken

@ShadowDragon8685: Did you try tabbing through your units to find them? Or selecting from the symbols of the squadmates. I remember I had a random bug of a normal unit visually disappearing, but still being there before when carrying a corpse. But they could still be normally used like that and reappeared from the sky when the corpse was put down.

Upon further testing, it still goes wonky as heck if your Viper is NOT the last to move, it's like they teleported into the sky. I couldn't find them afterwards.

Discovered a softlocking bug: it does NOT like it when a Viper tries to climb a ladder carrying a corpse. The camera starts zooming off into the hinterlands and nothing happens, and nothing can cause it to stop - if the Viper was the last unit to move, anyway.

@Theta: The problem was I wasn't seeing the 'do nothing, end turn' button! Or that there was a keyboard shortcut for that... My bad.

@ShadowDragon8685 I'm pretty sure that isn't a problem with the mod you just have to manually end your turn using the option in the top right of the screen since that's what i do when i bind an enemy with the vipers and it works just find.

I have a problem using these Vipers. I can Bind an enemy just fine, but I can't keep them bound. I have to choose for them to release the bind for the turn to end.

Vipers can definitely spawn as Templars, I've gotten some from scanning events before. I don't know how to reliably recreate that, though.
I have yet to see a Reaper viper, but I would assume it is possible.

The other AU version could be used with LWOTC without crashes. Source: I did for the longest time. i've switched to the LWOTC one and LWOTC's changes seem to be applied to aliens now so it seems to pair better with it.

love the mod! only problem i have with it is just that they seem way too strong compared to the other human soldiers. didnt we like, kill hundred of those?

I had a viper soldier come by default with a Hippie Glasses upper prop. But when I customized it and changed it all props are broken, they just float in front of her, even the one she came with.
By the way, I'm using Project Dollhouse and the mod doesn't seem get along too nice with it, to the point I don't know if the current customizations I have would be available with or without the mod in the first place. Also, changing the unrestrictedcustomization to true in the ini doesn't seem to do anything

I forget what it's called, but does your Templar have the ability to deflect shots, with chance based on current focus?
