How about making custom wear that makes it look more burnt/worn?
The war paint "necromanced" does something similar and it looks great.

My god, your war paint looks so good! I hope more of it gets into the game soon like some of the ones chosen for this year's Halloween. Especially the wooden toy war paint, I really like the toy esthetic. XD

oh. my. god. a war paint based off of an already existing in game concept i always love these. its amazingly made and does what its made to do well. would defo purchase despite its likely skyhigh prices

Absolutely gorgeous. The colors aren't too bright or saturated and nothing really noisy, great overall but would agree this could be improved on a bit more with a team coloring for BLU as well.

I noticed the images didn't show wear levels. You should make it looked more burned as it gets more damaged. I'd suggest looking at the "coffin nail" skins to see how that works.
