Not gonna lie? Arma modding is kind of not fun. Especially with how closed source literally every mod is, and how few tools or documentation there is for anything. I'd be happy to implement a fix if someone else made one, but for now if you plan on using the vanilla Osprey, I'd recommend going to the mod's folder and deleting the _vics_hlsr PBO, possibly other vehicle PBOs too (I think the L4D2 vehicles depend on the HL Decay SUV, for example). Feel free to make a custom workshop upload as well to facilitate online play.

AFAIK, any issues relating to vanilla vehicles are due to my mod inheriting from them directly, and then that causing issues when other mods (or even BIS updates, as is the case with the Hatchback skeleton or the bird skeleton that now cause error pop-ups, or the Bradley and Apache's guns no longer working - I didn't change anything to break these) change stuff in the class that my mod references or relies on. The solution would be to either figure out a better way to inherit that stuff, or only inherit from as base a class as possible and hope to god neither BI nor ACE or anyone else modifies those. Either way, I'd have to rewrite the whole config for all of the vehicles that don't already do this.

I haven't had the time to do anything Arma modding related this year, been mainly focused on work and some really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up IRL stuff.. I've been considering remaking the mod from scratch with what I learned over the course of making it, but obviously that would take a lot of time I don't rightly have right now (especially since I'd want to give all the HL1 weapons the treatment I gave the CS 1.6 shotgun). Maybe sometime next year...

Might be a compatibility issue with the CDLCs or something then.. this new version doesn't have anything that messes with the Put weapon, or any mines or explosives, or anything at all related to mines or explosive charges.

Just tested it here to make sure or try to fix it and it all worked fine, same loadorder as yours (CBA + mod), so Idk. Game's weird. But the CDLCs are the only thing I can think of that we don't have in common, besides maybe Steam not having deleted the weps_misc PBO after updating the mod.

Can you try loading the same preset without the CDLCs, as well as manually delete the mod's PBOs and force Steam to re-download them?

@AlphaGarg, has anyone else experienced any issues when it comes to placing explosives and mines? I can't seem to place any despite not loading anything other than the mod and CBA

Maybe. One thing I do wanna do eventually is add a standing position like that of the commander, maybe two so that you can have an 8 man squad in the back of the Osprey. But I'd have to figure out how to do the opening doors action for vehicles in order to do what you ask. I tried it when I was working on the trucks and trying to add semis with functioning fifth-wheel couplings - I wanted the trailers you attached to the trucks to have openable doors on the back so that people with WMO could ride inside of them and such.

Of course, nothing worked, especially not the physics, but not even the doors. They just didn't react to the action, even though running a script to manually animate them showed that the model.cfg was correctly configured. It's an Arma 3 moment. So maybe one day.

Oh, you mean having the crew door openable? I believe I have it set up to open and close based on the landing gear, as in if you lower the gear, the doors open. I *believe*. Been a while..

@AlphaGarg Sorry for my bad explanations lol I am talking about in the beginning of HLOP where you are flying in the Osprey and you can see the mountains & Goose 7 get blown up in the background and you can see your commnader standing in the door way of the Osprey. @Ironside Is the model fan-made, or is it a straight rip? If it's a rip, I'm afraid I can't use it. Bohemia Interactive has copyright cops that mass report mods that use unlicensed assets. Personally, I don't see an issue with non-competing, free mods using assets from other games, but BI does, so I can't risk the mod getting taken down.

I've noticed a small bug since the introduction of the "Funny Mine". I've noticed that the vanilla mines and explosive charges do not appear when modifying a vehicle's "Equipment Storage" in the Editor. They'd typically be under the tab with all of the grenades and explosives, but with your mod loaded all I see is the grenades (as normal) and the Funny Mine.

It's a little bit of an odd question to ask, but I was wondering if there is any possibility to add more feminine and/or female type anthros to the mod? I'm sure it'd be a lot more work though so most likely not, but still! If you see this, thank you for reading it!

Luckily, a pal of mine has the models ported to Gmod, so you could get the textures for the interior more easily that way. Though I no little about arma so I don’t known if textures move over that easily or not

Not in multiplayer - in singleplayer... maybe. Just need an on frame EventHandler, a global variable reference for the unit (so the EH can access it), and setObjectScale applied every frame repeatedly so the transformation matrix doesn't get screwed.

It's just one example of several weeks of work going to waste - trust me when I say this, there are many. You do not want to know how many attempts it took me to write the Extras mod's rail system - and it's still glitchy as all getout and prone to outright breaking, not to mention incredibly taxing on the game's async stack due to it needing to be smooth in motion.

I should refactor it, but why bother? It'll just break anyways, and for whom, the 12 or so people that actually like HL1? Don't even get me started on that mod's buildings' AI paths.. they break the moment a building's ATL coordinates' Z position is non-zero, and sometimes AI will just walk right through a building regardless of anything, even if it IS placed on the ground. Why? I DON'T KNOW. NOBODY KNOWS. I GO MAD.

Like, ever wondered why the mod has no boats? Even though Left 4 Dead 2 has tons of boats, especially from The Sacrifice, and including a cool-ass huge cargo ship? Yeah, well, I tried putting some in the game! I spent like a whole week making the huge ship from The Sacrifice have no missing faces and have a crane that you could spin (implemented as a 'commander turret') and doors that you could open and close and ♥♥♥♥..

.. only for when I went to actually put them in the game, they didn't work. Mind you, I didn't start with the big ship, I started with that boat that Louis tries to go in only to find it's infested with Witches. How didn't it work, you may ask? It spun. It just spun around its forward axis, like it had a sphere's inertial tensor. So I tried just the official boat sample from Bohemia, completely unedited, and what did it do? Spin.

I spent ages trying to fix it, asked around in the Discord, but eventually? I just gave up. It wasn't worth the time.

@Ironside Looked it up, looks simple enough to model, exterior-wise, at least. I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate hate interiors and you can probably tell that from the HL1 Osprey and Apache (cargo space notwithstanding).

But I could do something like what I did for those two, if that still sounds good to you :)

Only issue, really, is that I am struggling to find the time/motivation to do ANYTHING with the mod lately.

It's always like, "oh I'm gonna model this thing and put it in Arma!" then I model it, and it's super fun, then I get to actually putting it in the game and I lose my mind lol

Like, I understand your reasoning and find it fair, but there's two primary reasons I consistently refuse to do that:

If things were separated into different mods, then one, those mods likely wouldn't get much traffic at all, and so would just fall into disuse, and two, I'd not only have to test them together, but also apart, and in different combinations, to make sure everything was still working. I already have to do that between the Extras and CUP Dependent off-shoots, and it's a pain.

HOWEVER, given the license the mod is listed under (see description above grr) you CAN modify it yourself to remove anything you consider superfluous, and then reupload it to the Workshop - with proper association, of course. That includes the credits on this page's description (unless you fancy breaking those dudes' copyrights lol).

longshot but mind as well ask, could you recreate the U/AV-17 Hawk from the Resistance Franchise. Kinda a semi blursed design merging a blackhawk, osprey, and seahawk together with a dab of ww2 american style ontop. Also has a cool nose mounted twin autocannons. also one in r2 with missiles on the wings. hope the idea interests you

I dont usually ask this but the mod GB size makes me ask, any plans for a separate addon for the furry heads and uniforms (Mostly so i can make an Antistasi faction pack at a lighter size cost)

Ayo, banger work on the updates, the Resonance Cascade module is fantastic now with the various adjustable variables, especially love that you allowed customizing the classes that are spawned. Means this can be used with the Xenians from Our Benefactors or any other critters we may want to have suddenly spawning in around the poor souls.

@Spartan 208 I can't replicate that no matter what I do here - tried it with just this and CBA, with the CUP version and its dependencies, with the Extras version, with all three, and no matter what I could only fit two units in the Flatbed HEMTT, both the arid and the olive versions. I even tried some of the other HEMTT variants. Do you have any more info you can give me on that?

Also, just pushed a wee update with cows and hogs from Arma 2 (plus a few other tiny things). Hog killing time!
