Is there a way to edit beauty given by decorations?

Hey, my pawns keep going into caves to "hang something on the celling" and get beaten by spiders. Could you please consider updating the mod so pawns only decorate Home Area? Or somethig similar?

Does it add mood buff?x

Shouldn't this level up their art skill?

Are the decorations supposed to be giving 50 beauty?

Every book my colonist puts on an end table is *by far* the most beautiful thing in the room...

This doesn't seem to work with alien races? When I played with base game humans it worked, but I usually play Orrasans and they have never put any deco up.

When pawns live in tents from the tents mod (probably the same with sleeping bags put under the sky) the have strange behaviour like putting decorations on ancient walls and cave ceilings far from camp.

Btw, can you make them decorate other rooms but their bedrooms? Like the canteens and rest rooms?

@Frank It's a recreational activity so they'll decorate when they have recreational time. They'll also always decorate even when the construction task is disabled.

@bottlestring I'll look into it and I'll probably make a tutorial for adding your own decorations. For now you can try creating your own XML file in a custom folder in the Defs folder in the mod. You can also try following some of these tutorials on the rimworld wiki: https://rimworldwiki.com/wiki/Modding_Tutorials/

Will they create decorations when assigned to construction, or is it a recreation? The description isn't clear when they'll be doing this

Also my pawns will only put stuff on tables and VERY rarely there is one single pawn who will put up something else. I get errors about Object reference not set to an instance of an object 99.9% of the time

So after I make my own decorations do I just put them in the right folder or what?

Prisoner decorations sound really cool! I'm currently not very actively working on the mod but if I have the time i'll add it!

this is an amazing addition to the game, it great seeing their rooms slowly get more and more updates, any chance this could be added to prisoners? like little carvings in their walls to pass their time?

Good to hear! There might be some compatibility issues with an older version of the mod, a fix would be to either deconstruct the broken decoration and save the world again. You can also try resetting all decorations by going into the mod settings and selecting Reset all decorations and then save again. Hope this fixes the problem!

@lemandDieAbeHeet I love your mod so much, its cute and definetly a must have for me, But for some reason, everytime i reload a save, i get a bug that everytime I click in the eye icon to look at the deco my colonist placed before, it says Hanged or Placed by "Unknown", I dont if its a mod compatibility or a issue of this mod, but aside from that, Its perfect!!

Just as an FYI, the names on the decorative bottle and book are flipped.

i love the idea, it makes them feel more like an individual, this is what i would like from Pawns Paint! Restored, have them paint thing and hang em.

@Jim Lahey Thanks! I currently do have some of those features planned. I'd really like the rooms for each pawn to be unique in it's decorations. I'm mainly thinking about linking decorations to a pawns personality traits / skills.

@Cole Walker Yes! I've fixed those main problems the mod had in the beginning. Pawns now have cooldowns between hanging decorations and there's also a limit to the amount of decorations that can be hung up. If you do encounter any other bugs, you can post them in bug-reports.

This seems like a novel way of improving pawn characterization, I like it a lot. Depending on how much effort you want to put into the mod, it would be neat for pawns to decorate with items that are in-line with their traits, skills, or passions - like a pawn who is skilled and passionate about shooting will decorate with items pertaining to hunting, or a pawn centered around cooking will put up food posters, intellectuals with Einstein or atom posters, etc.

The glitch in the mod I mean*

Before I use this mod, were you able to fix the mod were colonists wouldnt stop laying posters all over the place, not eating food or anything just postering up the place even layering em on each other, and you couldnt remove em?
