i actually don't want the levels for plopping, i want the levels for the buildings to level up normally as land value goes up to generate more income, hold more people and all that good stuff that comes with higher levels, basically to get normal game behavior, also the redecorated set doesn't help
so i think i will copy the buildings for each of the levels then
As I had early access/beta testing for CS2, I have a much stronger grasp of the gameplay and now realise how impactful a lot of these things are, so I'll make sure something like this never happens again for any of my future assets in both games. But unfortunately, providing backwards support isn't something I can really do.
My recommendation is you try out Titan's decorated versions of these houses (search them), that MIGHT help (but not guarantee). Worst case scenario, maybe you could edit these assets and save them locally with corresponding levels, or dump them with modtools and reimport at the 5 levels you'd like? I don't really understand how levelling works and don't have time to learn, sorry.
i know you can make them historical but it's not very convenient to enable historical everytime a new house gets built

To be honest using the asset editor to add props is kind of annoying for me because of a number of reasons I don't want to get into, especially as it comes to publishing and I don't really want to impose props on anyone. Last time I tried to add props to an asset, the asset just completely broke and kept throwing errors.
What I can recommend to you is adding the props yourself in the editor and saving them locally. It will take a bit of time but in the long term it will really make things easy.
