(sorry for bothering, im just really curious about this script and if my hopes are right - this is the best thing ever :D )
1) Is there any point of using this script without the mod?
2) Is there any video of whole process of creating mech from scratch? (I've seen the guide, but It feels kinda "Im trying to figure out myself but everything blows up."
Here is a GIF where you can see the walk cycle stutter mid-cycle. I'm not sure what causes it, but it happens on all of my mechs that use this script.
When my mechs try to walk, they seem to be very wobbly while walking and fail to walk properly as a result. I have gotten one of my mechs down to 81 tons, and it still cannot walk properly on triton.
The script seems to stutter mid-walk cycle resulting in a dramatic faceplant while trying to take its first steps. I have counteracted this by placing gyros on the chest and allowing myself to aim straight, but then the torso buckles and lands on the ground, even after adding around 20 gyros to the torso.
Any ideas as to what may be wrong?
im working a newer guide right now, will be done sometime on 1st or 2nd of august
after i finish the newer version of the guide ill start work on a tutorial
Reason being that the whole "want to jump on Discord so I can help you" response of "no" very much reminded me of Monty Python and the Holy Grail and the whole "NON. Now go away!"
Anyone else getting this vibe ???
Careful @Beesoldier - he might fling a cow at you if he gets annoyed...
Also, can it toggle landing gear, so when it's on the ground it locks? (So it could latch onto stuff such as, say, a ship in space. You jump off and fly around, but it can dock and lock to walk)
And, could you make it so we can control the sequence of legs? (If there are four, whether it's one leg at a time, two at the diagonals, front then back, or sides together)
Can you do odd numbers? So like the front one moves, then the back 2 move?
Could you make an argument that "pauses" the script, and activates all thrusters so it could be flown as a ship? Maybe it even will move the legs to a pre-set posistion, allowing someone to dock the legs during flight?
Just some questions/ ideas!
actual construction *can* sometimes yield issues, but its well worth it!
Having the ability to orientate the mech and the mechs feet to an incline
eg- If the mech can rotate its feet to face the ground flat on then that should give mechs the ability to climb moderate angled inclines (this in conjunction with the ability to shift the COM (Center of mass) to stay over the feet to prevent the mech from falling backdown the hill would make mechs WAY more viable and WAY more effective)
The main issue i see with mech is that most small bipedal walkers cant walk up an incline of over around 10-20 degrees (just an estimation) this means that mechs could become much more viable as there is already ways to print multi grid grids.
