Another improvement could be changing how this appears in the third person. First person view of the camera doesn't look the same as when you use third person or see other survivor's holding it.

this would be even cooler if it also improved brightness, contrast. to the extent that survivors could navigate a pitch black environment (like the sewers in the parish) using this rather than their flashlights. A custom campaign could feature a pitch black tunnel network loaded with witches, and just one of these at the entrance. Would make for a cool stretch of claustrophobia+teamwork+coordination for a team of survivors.
