I did consider that at the time. If I remember correctly, there is a certain threshold (25 of each building type or so) below which the towns/villages would never grow, or even re-grow if you demolish some of the buildings, which is why I decided against it.
As for the industries that are represented in the game, oil, steel, iron, coal and silver were, as far as I am aware, never produced in any meaningful quantities within the boundaries of the map. Anything else very much so.
The OS maps linked in the description, especially the large scale ones (6- and 25-inch) label everything down to individual buildings, including farms, factories, quarries etc. You will find that many of the industries I placed on the map correspond 1:1 to a real world counterpart.
https://www.visionofbritain.org.uk/ is another resource I know of, where you can look up any of the towns/villages present on the map. Descriptions tends to mention the industries that existed in those places at the time.

Ah, those must be leftovers from some tree painting mod I was using.
Could you guide me to a ressource you might know that specify what products are local and what would be imported from outside the map ?

Thanks a lot for sahring that one, I'm gonna have fun there
Thank you.

Are the factories that have more than one product working? There are steel mills that make steel only and steel mills that make steel and slag. I've had trouble getting the second type to make steel, seems to make slag only?
