@The Mad Carrot, I've made some significant balance changes now so it should be much less punishing. You're going to have to delete and re-download the mission in-game to get the new version.

Geez, bro, this mission is way too chaotic, too much ♥♥♥♥ happening all over the place, I keep getting overrun each time. You can't expect a human being to be able to multitask like that.

SUCCESS!!! I've reinstalled the game and through a series of experiments, I've found out the issue. It was the RULES.INI file that I had leftover from the Unholy Alliance that I've since further modified myself.

It works fine now. For some reason, it doesn't affect any other map I've ever played (skirmish, campaign, and other custom maps.) I'll let know what I think of the mission later.

I've scrubbed EVERYTHING from those folders. I will keep that in mind when I redownload it however. Thank you.

Very strange. I've asked some others on Discord to test it too. Something special I did with this mission is that I renamed all of the civilians and civilian buildings. Maybe that's something that could cause a crash on some systems since there's quite a few of them civvies. You could try open up the map file in notepad (located in Documents\CnCRemastered\Local_Custom_Maps\Red_Alert) and remove all the entries that say for example:

[V07]
Name=Na Zdrowie Pub

and

[C1]
Name=Artyom

And see if that might help.

It crashed before the briefing screen. I had deactivated all the mods. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling mission 8 and the immersion mod. I tried to put in the original ini files. That's why I'm going to try a clean install. Then I'll add mod back to see if i can identify which one .

@Scottusa1, hey man glad to see you back :) I just tried it again several times and have no problems running this mission. I really have no idea what could be causing the crashes. At exactly which point does it actually crash? Before you get the briefing, or just as you get to the in-game portion? Do you have any mods running?

Hey there, its been a long time. I believe when i last talked to you it was sometime after you first uploaded mission 7. Now look at this whole campaign you have made made while I was away, with an awesome immersion mod to boot. Been having a blast, except this one.

It looks like I'm having the same problem as LostScare. It just keep crashing on me for some reason when i start it up. All of your other ones seem to work perfectly. I think I'll try a clean reinstall, since I've tried just about everything else I'll let you know if that fixes it

@LostScare that's weird. It must be on your end because I just played through it without any problems. I've made a few balance changes so the mission is not as hard as before. You could try to delete the mission and then download it again.

@Crash Thank you so much, man! Always so great to hear feedback :) It was my intent to try to stay close to how Westwood made their missions since I wanted it to feel like sort of a natural transition from the original Soviet campaign, like an expansion of sorts (without any modding knowledge). But I couldn't resist giving my own personal touch on things and throw in a few secrets here and there. Difficulty is also quite a balancing act since I wanted it to be more challenging, but not punishingly so, which can be a little hard to gauge when you know all the ins and outs... But yea there are a couple more missions to go so it's not over yet :)

After a hiatus in both playing and mapping, I finally came around and have played through your campaign thus far. I've gotta say, I really like them! They capture the classical Red Alert feel, add some unique problem solving and increase the difficulty so they pose an actual challenge to seasoned players. I'm looking forward to the next one(s)!

Aye! cheers for the heads up on the volume issue.. GeForce experience's default setting for volume is set to 50% so I raised it to 100% and tested it. Should be nice and loud going forward...

I didn't have any problems with the mission's difficulty.. a nice stubborn challenge so it was! The first play-through I did get battered though haha, that playthrough was the second time round

Cheers for playin Cobalt Fury! I know there's quite a bit of perseverance involved but if you're the type of player that gets off on that struggle/obstacles put forth.. then more power to ya :)

Yeah I heard someone else who had a hard time with this mission, maybe I should make it a bit easier. Do you know if maps update automatically or do people need to delete and re-download it to get the changes?

I finished your mission Cobalt Fury last week by the way which also was tough as nails and it took me like an hour and a half, but I really enjoyed it nevertheless :P

Hey! Sorry for the delay. I completed this mission last week and uploaded a playthrough (2 parts). Mission was tough enough, I had to play on a slow speed to keep those Soviet forces at bay and work my way up.
