I took your map theme out for a drive. You absolutely nailed the look of a tropical dry season / wet season climate (for example W & SW Florida and some of the Caribbean). I took some tourist photos.

I love the use of alphas for blending. The one and only thing I would change is to take out the alpha from the sand texture. The game nicely blends a sand texture into the ruined/grass, even sand texture with ripples effect. Added this to my fave map themes!
