The raising/lowering system is kinda buggy (as all my shit is), sometimes the animation just collides into the ground or whatnot.
The weapon keys for the normal strider are the same keys for raising/lowering, but that shouldn't be a hard problem to fix.
If I ever get around to creating my own version of the normal groundwatch strider, I'll add it. No clue when that would be.
Reason I chose groundwatch for this addon was that it's not actually an npc, it's just an entity with strange lua magic animations, I'm not experienced enough with lua magic to do stuff with actual npcs, like proper special stuff to pill pack npcs.
I do entirely agree with you though, there's that mod with dropships that drop off npc soldiers, I wonder if it's posible for someone more skilled to make the soldiers patrol around a bit and call the dropship to pick em up after awhile of no contacts.

3. AimGun - lua/entities/gw_strider_platform.lua:327
4. unknown - lua/entities/gw_strider_platform.lua:162 (x18)
Know why I'm getting this?
