Taking a quick look, looks like mostly doomed cuz the vast majority of improvement I saw was in the SQF code, most of the configs won't be able to make much use of inheritance where the loading problems are, so it's mostly on BIS to get their shit right, which is just too much to ask.

Yo. The whole UAS mod lags my game out a lot, needing like 10 minutes to load the Altis map on editor. That's just with UAS loaded btw. Is there a fix to this?

UAS and AAPM doesn't work with current ACE 3 medical. Use Cobalt ACE, which actually works correctly because it has old ACE medical without the proprietary and cheap ACE 3 armor system overwriting event handlers for AAPM.

From about 12 hours of testing, it seems like UAS + AAPM 4 is working with only specific combinations of ammo and plates, paired with a specific EN kill limit value. Some of the more uncommon ammo types trigger ACE armor values, and torso damage is converted into all Bruises and you get super troopers that only die from the EN kill script (armor never degrades). Choosing an ammo that is simulated properly, however, results in predictable (mostly) results. Tested in SP with all Ace features enabled and about 30 different EN values. Using vests with no armor value led to even more predicable results. I eagerly await the replacement xD

UAS is broken. It has been since ACE 3 made its own armor system. It depends on many things. UAS bullets are calibrated to work with AAPM. As such they have high penetration values and low HIT values for what they are. The UAS equivalent 7N22 is probably just doing practically nothing because it is zipping through the target and not doing much damage so it looks like the unit was not hit.

A working replacement for UAS and AAPM is in the works. No release date as of RN.

Weird,7N22 in RHS can pierced the 6B5-19 body armour,but the AP bullet in this mod can't...Is that a bug?

Why wouldn't it? It shouldn't affect ACE Medical. It's purpose is to add ACE 3 Advanced Ballistics support to UAS. I haven't noticed a difference with ACE Medical when using my mod, old or current ACE.

Yes, UAS(No Nukes) version is the same build as UAS(Updated), minus nukes. You can ignore the dependency issue, you will not cause any issues. Just don't load BOTH UAS(Updated) And UAS(No Nukes).

The dependency issue is going to be there because I cannot have this mod require BOTH UAS(No Nukes) and UAS(Updated). They would cancel each other out and possibly cause issues. I also have to have ONE of the UAS versions as a dependency because then people will be confused about which UAS version to load.

I wish arma 3 workshop worked so that you could show what mods the workshop page was compatible with instead of requiring one to load it with and displaying an error if you choose another mod instead that does the same damn thing.

Again to people complaining about load times - UAS is a hyper sized database and archive for basically all ammo types and loads for common cartridges being used by militaries, guerrilla forces and armed civilians/hunters. Complaining about the mod being too big is kinda dumb because that is basically what the mod is - a one mod database and archive of cartridges being used from WWI to modern day.

If it is really that big of a deal download UAS:Lite(Updated) using the link in the description and choose to load either UAS(Updated) or UAS(No Nukes). You can also load UAS: ACE3 Compatibility Patch with UAS:Lite(Updated) as well.

Assuming you have a decent computer with a decent amount of space left on the HDD/SSD. Your load time should go down quite significantly when you load in Virtual Arsenal or ACE Arsenal. In testing we found that the mod drops Arsenal load time by one-half to three-quarters when compared to without the mod being loaded.

I was more concerned with mission and ACE Arsenal load times than file sizes, though I understand your concern with file sizes, which is why I abandoned RHS and CUPs full core downloads. Even with all those I listed here plus another nearly 160 mods, my Arma still loads faster than UAS alone. The majority of the ammo in the mods I listed do ACE compatibility, while a minority of UAS seems ACE compat on any variants of their mods currently, with a lot of blank specs for them under ACE Arsenal. KA is a little better than UAS on load times and does have a higher ratio of ACE stuff in it, so I'm probably going to keep it long-term. It also has those big sub sonic rounds.

Thanks for the alternative options. I've somehow mitigated the load factor by loading the Lite Version alongside the ACE-compat & regular UAS combo. I'll probably try one that doesn't have a large files size. One thing I am quite fond of for the UAS mods are the ultra light file sizes. If the ACE compat files you've suggested don't require the base content (Which would be a hefty amount of bytes) I'll probably use them too.

@De Nini, Pan, check out RH pistols pack ACE compat, NiArms ACE compat, Optre ACE compat, and Project infinite All in One. The rest of your ammo will be ACE mod itself. I simply have unloaded UAS and KA with the result of much faster load times, and the most unique ammo in both aren't ACE compat, anyway. Heck, with All in one command module, it was taking minutes to open up ACE Arsenal. I don't even use any of Dagger now except his weapons.pbo, because its ammo hit detection is now messed up. That does leave me with a few of his guns like his .458 with either no ammo or only 6.5 caseless or 7.6 NATO to replace what they're supposed to have, but that's cool. If you want big cal guns, there's Optre and even a 50 cal MX mod available. Keep overheating and gun cook off activated to keep it interesting :-)

No on .50 AE. Yes on 6.8x51mm eventually. UAS Compat is heavily math driven because there are many times no reference pictures or projectile pictures for most of the ammunition loads that are in UAS. Because of this I only take the time to add advanced ballistics to UAS ammunition that has the ability to reach out to several hundred meters(600m+) accurately. Fifty action express doesn't meet that requirement as most loads are not meant to go past 100m. The maximum effective range of .50 AE for most people using a Desert Eagle is about 200m. After 200m the bullet starts to drop like a rock.

Possibly. I am still in the process of transitioning control of UAS(Updated) and UAS(No Nukes) to @ThatTiredRookie. When he has taken those over then I am going to focus my full attention to UAS-ACE again.

More than likely the cartridge has not been patched if it is not in the Atrag. Also you don't need Old UAS, just UAS: Updated. having both loaded might cause problems. I explained on the UAS: Updated workshop page in the description so look there for specific details of why you don't need it.

@ZacharyPw I have an issue when using the updated UAS and this patch. I am trying to locate some ammo in the AtragMX, but it does not show up, so I can't calculate the scope compensation values for it. I loaded UAS updated, ACE, this patch, and old UAS (since UAS: Extra Ammo has as dependency the old UAS). I also tried to only load the update UAS, but still it doesn't show in the AtragMX.

Absolutely killing it my dude. Indispensable. If you end up taking over from Berl I know the mod's in good hands. ACE support was the missing piece of the puzzle and I'm glad to have it.

I was wondering how UAS generally or this mod in particular interact with tracers. Do some magazine sizes have, for example, Tracer Every 1, Tracer Every 3 or Reload Tracers? I remember Berl added them for machine gun magazines above a certain size, but I can't remember the particulars.

@Illegal Cage, it is a WIP. there are probably around 1000 ammo entires into the UAS code from around 20-30 different cartridges I believe would benefit from having ACE support.

I just noticed El Berl has been offline, pray his alright and covid free, but wanted to see if someone can update those mods as well until his return. There has been some discussion about ballistics over mods and DLC that have been updated recently so perhaps it would warrant a developer to review.

Thank you! That clarifies it for me. C-ACE is often a problem to use, because of the other mods that require ACE compat files. Due to the age of the ACE version that Cobalt is based on, some of these mods (like RHS, etc.) just don't work properly anymore with it. It's either some missing stuff that is being required by the compat files, or vice versa. But now with this compatibilty mod, this problem is finally solved.

@Godis I suggest using Cobalt ACE because in my experience it has better medical simulation. UAS: ACE3 Compatibility Patch doesn't modify or affect in any way the functionality of the latest medical system or the old medical system found in Cobalt ACE. As such both work with this mod just fine as far as I can tell.

On the UAS pages I've been told that UAS messes with the latest ACE Medical system. So are these now compatible with it?
