There is one thing I'm missing here though and that is a surface access, even if it's just a ladder against one of the support legs. If/when you fall off this platform there isn't really an easy way to get back on.

@Aerith instructions for the shuttle are on the cockpit screen to your left and only press 1 and tick the experimental mode box in the main menu to enable scripts hope that helps
