Current mesh limits what can be done with hair. Texture could be applied on black area on this example [i.imgur.com].

Suggestion: in some fantasy settings, make dwarves are famous for carefully cultivating their beards while dwarven women carefully cultivate their braids. So it would be interesting to see all dwarven women with long, braided hair instead of just short or long hairs.

ultimuh, there was a mod called "dwarven variety" that did just that, but it was removed, and I did not back up the files.
