For those who want to use this mod without feeling like they're cheating while playing hard mode, this is for you.
This is a list of all mobs that (to my knowledge) receive a shot speed buff when in hard mode:

[12] = true, -- Horf
[14] = true, -- Pooter, Super Pooter and Tainted Pooter
[15] = true, -- Clotty, Clot and I. Blob
[23] = true, -- Drowned Charger
[25] = true, -- Used for various flies (Red Boom Fly, Bone Fly, etc.)
[26] = true, -- Maw
[34] = true, -- Leaper
[35] = true, -- Red Maw
[42] = true, -- Stone Grimace
[61] = true, -- Sucker
[79] = true, -- Gemini
[248] = true, -- Psychic Horf

I removed all mobs that did not need to be on the list and added a few that definitely did. There may be more that i missed, i do not know.

Replace the list of mobs in the main.lua file in the main mod folder with this one and save the file, and voila! You successfully removed all of McMillan bs difficulty changes whilst still keeping it fair. You're welcome.

skill issue: the mod

I'm going for most of your mods rn, but this one I disagree with.
If you guys hate it, you never played flash. A lot of them like most notably pooters, used to shoot that fast in flash. Rebirth slowed it, Repentance fixed it.
But fr ty ty for most of the other mods like soul heart unnerfs, Im not some streamer who never takes dmg, i need my mf HEALTH

Thank god, the shot speed thing made Hard Mode over-emphasize ranged enemies far too much over close-ranged ones. It was a lazy change and made Clotties just straight up unnecessary.

Thank you, it feels nice to be able to enjoy playing Isaac again without slowly ripping my hair each time I get shot at light speed without me haing any time to react.

I was never really cut out for the greatly increased shot speed, so this is nice and much less infuriating

thank you for making this mod. I feel like Edmund went way too hard with hard mode in this dlc. This was by far the worst change and i'm glad to see it get fixed by the commmunity.

@Mechanomical Turn "oldStyle" to "false" all the way at the top first.
Then you can either apply false to the ones you dont want reduced, or delete them straight away.
If you delete stuff just make sure every line, except the last one, has a comma at the end

So just apply false to the ones I don't want reduced?

@Mechanomical I just pushed an update that does exactly that. By default it still reduces shot speed for every enemy tho. Just check the description above or the main.lua file :)

Is there any way to reduce this to Clotties and Horfs, those are the ones I tend to struggle with.

@Cryten Yes, this reduces shot speed for any enemy projectile.

Question: The increased shot speed was only for some monsters. Does this cut back shot speed on all monsters?

Thank god, The fast shot speed was very annoying, At least now it's more manageable than it was before.

v1.1 now also includes greedier mode, forgot about that :)
