WHAT is the map called? I have a ton of mods so uhhh, I don't know if its a specific scenerio it has to be started in or what, I don't see anything called firing range so its not something obvious...

Okay, yeah, it looks as though the mod was corrupt or something. Deleting it, unsubbing, starting the game, resubbing, and starting the game again finally fixed it. Sheesh.

See if there are any errors during loading. The screen rolls quite fast but it's saved to LogLoading.txt. Also check for any mentions of the mod in LogConsole.txt. You can also try deleting the .rte folder and resubscribing in case something in the mod is corrupt, and verifying the integrity of the game cache. Otherwise, do any other scenario mods work and are you running a beta build of the game?

I have the .rte, and it's not disabled as far as I can tell. I'm going to assume from this that the problem is some kind of shenanigan on my end. Can you think of anything in the settings that could stop it working? I have at least enough savvy to go and alter the .ini stuff.

Sounds like the mod is not being loaded. If you look in the Cortex Command folder, there should be a folder named "FiringRange.rte". If it's named "FiringRange.rte.disabled" it thinks you have unsubscribed; if it's not there at all it's not being downloaded in the first place. Perhaps try unsubscribing, starting and closing the game, and then resubscribing.

Basically, I have always previously played the game on mac computers, and recently switched to Windows. For whatever reason, the Firing Range scene isn't appearing in the selection menu.

@Ampersand No idea, still works for me. Neither the game nor the mod has been updated for two years, so it should still work. Can you describe excactly what is not working?

So, I recently got CC on a new computer, and of course downloaded my various mods. However, your mod doesn't appear to be working, and I'm not sure why. Any ideas?

@totalynotdan: Works for me, check that "spawn actors/units" is enabled when you start the map (same place as you select controllers after selecting map).

Evertime I load up the level it says "fail". I havent even did anythnig and it says i faled the mission. WHY?!

um, a small suggestion. if possible it would be nice to, instead of the current spawning setup(or, in addition to it), have a small room that when you place an actor in it, that is the actor type that will spawn

Also I accidentally tested the actors picking up weapons outside, yeah, they pick them up and they shoot you.

Is it possible for you to tape more land onto an already-made map? If so, I think you should make a large flat bit that gives access to the rest of the map so we have a landing zone, because there are actually very few places you can land and they can't be used forever because eventually debris will occur because your rocket accidentally fell over. Maybe like a little thing that comes out of the ground and is just a piece of solid metal/concrete on a stick that is flat so we can land on it and just hop down?

Cool! That'll help a lot of people who want to test out the strength of their actors or defensive items. Just set up the guns you want to test against at the indoor spawner, watch the enemies pick them up, and see how long the actor/item lasts.

@thegamemaster1234: Actually, all enemy actors are unable to aim, shoot, or pick up weapons unless set to walk into the pit. Updated now so any enemy (including those standing still, but mostly those in the indoor facility) can pick up guns you throw at them and shoot you. Have not tested with the ones standing outdoors.

@Scrutiny: I think spawning Dreadnaughts in the pit area should work for that purpose, since they spawn with a turret. Just spawn however many you want to test the unit against, switch the spawner off, make sure they're not going to kill themselves, and position unit right in front of said dreadnaught(s).

This looks pretty good, but does it have a reverse firing range? Where there are non-brain hunting enemies that shoot back, to test defensive capabilities, such as with deflector guns, shields, armor, etc.

@Radioactive Space Jellyfish: Open the console (using the button left of "1"), and check if something is spamming errors, which can be caused by conflicting mods and creates loads of lag.

i've got a bit of an issue, whenever i go on this map i get constant framerate lag or the game moves more slowly
any ideas on why this is happening?

battleboy43: Chaos did make a youtube series using it, but the map was made by me and posted in the official forums.
[N] the hunted: Not sure, I'm guessing it's the code that is looking for actors in the area around the spawner active zone that is doing something strane when dropship engines comes flying around, as they are not a normal actor. It shouldn't be a common problem since the zones are covered by roofs, but if it's a common problem I'll look into fixing it.

alright so i have a problem, when i was testing a buncha mods I decided the scuttle a dropship (from another mod also) the engines shot out and one went and hit the area where it says Spawner active/ Disabled and my game crashed any idea why?

Yeah, I understand that that's a teleporter now. However, I'm not spawning on the surface. I'm spawning in the secured location accessed via a teleporter.

ozforce: You still spawn on the surface, and there is a teleporter in the new small room that teleports you to a REALLY well secured location, straight down. Using a teleporter instead of a shaft improves safety as well.

Nah, that's not what I meant. I wanted it to be CONNECTED to the surface, you know from a door to the left of where you fall down that hole and go to the right, instead there's a door to the left and you go through that and down some stairs and doors into that room, I meant it to be connected.

If you are actually still updating this, then I'd be happy if you could make a special underground area with reinforced doors etc. basically enter the clone deathpit area, except instead of going right, you go left and through a reinforced door and then walk down a staircase, through another door (just incase) and into a panic room where you can just stand in a little area with the door closed, since sometimes we're testing things, and the only place we can evacuate the brain is into the underground clone area, which isn't very effective.
