The url setting isn't exposed, so you'll need to do it manually by extracting the addon and chaning the line or just wait for an update. I didn't consider people would want self hosting until recently.

If cloudflare is showing an error it means either your friend is having GMod issues or your setup was not properly done. Btw, are you self hosting? As freddy pointed out, there's no way to easily change the base url currently.
The screen itself is just a website, so it needs a normal webhost to be usable. The files are here: https://github.com/Xalalau/GMod-OG-Loading-Screen/tree/master/host
GitHub instructions: upload the files above to a repository and enable GitHub Pages in the repository settings. Options: add a custom domain, disable "Enforce HTTPS" and deploy it. The custom domain allow us to disable "Enforce HTTPS", which is the trick to make the loading screen to work with the ancient chromium embedded in GMod (although I heard the game is finally getting updated, but not on Linux). That's it.
Unfortunately I don't know where to host it for free, the custom domain has a cost. I don't recommend web hosts like 000webhost or infinityfree because they limit the connections per day around 100 unique IPs. Maybe we can use a free subdomain on GitHub?https://freedns.afraid.org/ ?
Tell me if you manage to get it hosted, I don't have the time right now to take a look into it.

What do you mean by "The files are not jumping"? Aren't they moving correctly over the screen or aren't them moving to multiple lines? The last one is configurable.
- Fixed error while trying to close a nil file in menu_addon.lua;
- Added to GitHub steps for creating a loading screen gma and uploading it to the Workshop (it's a very different process compared to the normal addons);
- Added custom Windows and Linux GMad builds builds to GitHub.
If you wanna host for free. Here you can. But as I said its not important to get a website. Just set it up to ping localhost and u are finished with it. sv_loadingurl must be set to that host

its in the host folder and u must change url to that site and it will work again. But all ppl will ping dat site. maybe people should ping them selve its possible to solve it. I just need a workaround it when I have time. Gmod is hosting a website when its running so u are able to host it easily just need to ping your self. Dunno which port.
