Usually such comparisons are made not that well,
sometimes even with totally different screenshots.
I have not really seen anything more clear regarding "before/after"
screenshots than your "sliced" method, well done!
Sidenote 1: How do i change this mod for minimal graphics settings?

Okay, i fixed both "issues" :oD
I just copy the lines with
game.config.settings.geometryQualityOptions[3]
innit and change the 3 to 1.
That way i can have a high drawdistance without any fog/haze while
keeping minimal graphics settings :oD
