Make sure in Eden you have disabled Vertical Mode and Surface Snapping on the top toolbar. Otherwise, the composition will be placed all offset based on the terrain.

The interior is supposed to be in the sky. You can't actually place the interior inside the the carrier since the carrier is actually made up of a bunch of subobjects that you will eventually run into. The door at then end of the interior and on the aft of the exterior provide a way for you to teleport inside and out.

anyone got a solution to this when i try and place the composition on the map with the carrier the interior is in the sky and i cant get it to attach to the carrier.

@a cat It's kinda weird because as you've seen, these objects don't show up in the editor list but they are their own objects with their own class names. In this instance, I just looked up the class name for the individual interior pieces and manually edited a composition file to include them. Once you have the interior pieces saved in a composition somewhere, you can copy and paste them in the editor just like any other object.

I see people use objects that are not in the editor list, such as these interiors. How the hell do you spawn them?

@berniemac Make sure you have both Vertical Mode and Surface Snapping at the top of the editor toggled off before you place the composition. That should keep the relative height of the objects correct and won't adjust them based on the underlying terrain.

It's A3's AI pathfinding. Try to disable it or if you use LAMBS, place the garrison moduel on the squad, and for their exit order, set it to none

Yeah, you're not going to get AI to properly walk inside of this thing. Place them where you want them and then disable their ability to path.

well, that fixed them so they are no longer shooting through walls, the problem is now they are walking through some walls and falling through the floor into the water

Have you placed the composition outside of the map boundary? I remember running into a similar issue when I placed the USS Freedom outside the normal terrain boundary. AI would just see through it. Once I moved it such that is in water that was in the terrain boundary, the AI acted normal.

Hey, i created a mission using this mod but on spawn the enemy ai starts attempting to shoot through the walls as if they can see through them. I was wondering if you knew how to fix that

I will fix the teleport to make sure it works both ways. The reason you go into the fall animation is because the thing is in the sky, and if the game does detect something beneath your feet, it thinks you are freefalling. I probably left a little gap in that corridor. You can also "trip" when going on the stairs, which I can't really fix.

Yeah, it was the speedboat that was blowing up. Regarding the teleport, it works from the inside, but not from the outside. Overall, amazing job! There is a section where the floor looks kinda weird, where my character always falls to the prone position, sometimes getting stuck in free fall animation. It's in a corridor with a green military wall

Thanks for bringing these up. ACE isn't supposed to be required, so I will fix that in the future. I don't think anything is supposed to blow up on start, but I'll double check. Also, yeah, since the interior is built out of other buildings, I've walled off certain areas. In my mission, players started in the front right hangar (the one that has the APC in it).

Also got an error about a missing ACE thing, and something explodes everytime on mission initialization, up on the interior. But everything looks really cool

You can't put anything inside the actual USS Freedom object because the USS Freedom is actually made out of several sub objects which you'll run into. By placing the interior way in the sky (preferably out of render distance) but in the same X/Y position as the USS Freedom, you can build the illusion that you are inside the ship (since the interior has no view to the outside).

The composition should include the USS Freedom and the exterior door. Interacting with the exterior door should take you back inside, unless I messed it up. In my mission, players started inside the interior and fought to the outside.

There's just a hold action on the init of the "interior" and "exterior" door that teleports you to one or the other. It should still work through this composition.

Fantastic stuff! May I ask how you integrated it into the mission? Did players just use holdAction on a trigger to teleport (setPos?). Or did you use a specific script?

You basically won't ever get AI to move in this unless you use unitPlay or something. I recommend just disabling the ability to path for any AI you place inside of it.

My mate just turned me onto this. Will add it to the list of to-dos and make a MP CQB mission in this.
How's the AI pathing through the walls/corridors? I've made a CQB mission in the vanilla Destroyer that was a mission in itself to stop AI clipping through corridors, doors and walls haha.

just go into 3den editor and look for sum object that look nice in there and then just go at it and u cud probs try to sortof base it off of sumn u saw in a movie or battlefield or just look for some photos of aircraft carrier interiors and just try to replicate it

Make sure you turn off Vertical Mode and Surface Snap before you place the composition, so everything gets placed at the correct height.
